So if Trump is suing Cummings to stop him from getting tax records from his accounting firm, then who defends the congressional subpoena in court? Normally, I think it would be the Department of Justice but the DOJ may take the position that Trump’s returns are private and that Congress can’t demand them under the same law that gives Congress the right to get his returns from the IRS.
