Investigation sure takes long …
When I last visited this Cathedral during the summer, I have to say that the highlight of my Paris visit was attending the 11:30 Sunday Mass. The church was packed. The choir and the sounds of the pipe organ were heavenly. I felt like I was in heaven amidst the beauty of this magnificent Cathedral. I want to support the efforts and work of restoration.

Notre Dome translated from French into English MEANS "Our Lady," so everyone who calls the cathedral by it's name (Notre Dome) IS calling it "Our Lady"

Catholic Churches in France have been under attack by Muslims. Just last month a 17th century Catholic Church in France was burned down to the ground by Muslims.
If China foots the bill for the rebuilding of Notre Dame, that will be the day.

It is sad that a building loved by many, religious or otherwise, was burnt down but that does not mean that western culture and the faith foundations this is built upon have been completely destroyed. Such events have previously occurred in Western history. But from the remaining ashes, the phoenix can rise again. So long as humans mourning the loss of the physical or material symbols of a faith or culture, any faith or culture, not just the Christian West, understand that what is truly precious is not its physical or material expression eg a beautiful building etc. The real thing is what we believe, what we follow, what we stand for, the principles and teachings of a particular faith or culture. A beautiful building or art destroyed can be rebuilt or more created to replace what was lost. But a completely destroyed culture, faith it is built upon and people who belong to it can never be rebuilt. Gone forever. Never to return and so, sad as as this recent event is, it is like a reminder concerning what ultimately matters most of all. A destroyed building or a destroyed western civilisation and religious foundation it is built upon? Westerners, regius or otherwise all know the answer to this question and this answer will help them grieve the loss of a much loved building symbolising their Western faith and culture and get over it. Move on. Start rebuilding it all from the remaining foundations salvaged through histories destructive events and rebuild it bigger, better and stronger than ever, able to withstand any future catastrophe and survive, by learning from the past eg how to construct a building less likely to be destroyed by fire or attack or flooding or collapse for other reasons. Let's hope this sad event was an accidental not a deliberate act fuelled by religious or cultural Hatred targeting symbols of Western culture and religious tradition.
Im in england and grew up learning about france and was shocked its so sad.you dont realise how delicate and old the buildings are how sad 😔
