What we know about the man who pretended to be the missing Timmothy Pitzen

The mystery of a young man who claimed he was a missing boy is still unraveling, leaving questions and raw emotions in its wake.

Police reported Thursday that the person who identified himself as Timmothy Pitzen, who disappeared when he was 6 years old in 2011 and would be 14 years old now, was in fact a 23-year-old from Ohio.

A DNA test proved the young man was not Pitzen. Rather, he is Brian Michael Rini, and this wasn’t his first run-in with law enforcement.

  1. What if it’s really him but the kidnappers made him do bad things which included the fbi or government involvement and he knew too much so he couldn’t go back home but he finally did and they staged a fake dna test honesty wouldn’t be hard to do.. they’re the fbi

  2. This guy looks no where near 14 years old. But maybe the people that first encountered himbdidn't know how old the missing young boy was. They were just focused on the fact he said he was held against his will. I feel sad and pain for the family though! Prayers that they one day they learn the truth about their loved one.

  3. Maybe the media should have just waited a second before they reported on some fake news let them investigate without craziness figure out if it's him because look people that don't deserve to be hurt anymore by this are

  4. This looks like it's one of those cases where the mother took her son to an amusement park then commit suicide and the boy goes missing Without a Trace seems to me like the mother before she committed suicide she killed her son and then commits suicide.

  5. I dont think this story should of went public until it was confirmed if the kid/guy was Timothy or not. It has to be hard enough for this family to live thru, yet alone do it while all the world is watching. I've even seen one media outlet going to the woman's house that was the person that initially called the police for this person. They interviewed her & kept asking if she thought it was Timothy & if his facial features were comparable to that of a picture of him when he was 6 yrs old & disappeared. This was all done while they were still awaiting DNA test results to determine the truth.

The media conviently forgets that their responsibility is to report facts, not twist, not exaggerate or even outright lie about them for their own benefit. They have an obligation to inform the public of a factual account so that we can use that information to come to our own personal opinion & conclusion. Instead they have taken it upon themselves to tell us what are opinions & conclusions should be. They are a single entity that wields far too much power in its capabilities to sway public opinion & our belief system without being held to any real standard or accountability.
