  1. Absolutely heartbreaking, this building saw witness to over 800 years of this city’s history. Even if it has been a couple years since that fire, it still brings heartache. Truly a crowning achievement of Western architecture and culture.

  2. I don't feel sorry for them they chose Macron and this is what They want.
Erasing this history and their culture is not tragic for the majority there

  3. Sadly, this is a perfect metaphor for France itself. The nation has lost its culture, history, and identity all in the name of political correctness and open borders. France is now a husk of its former self, just like Notre Dame.

  4. Grief abounds for so many people. Catholics worldwide, who lost this beautiful symbol of their faith during the holiest week of the year. People who hadn’t yet had the chance to visit the Notre Dame cathedral, who probably feel like that man from the Twilight Zone episode who cries “no, but there was time….I was supposed to have time!”. People, religious or not, who have visited the cathedral and have been wowed by the architecture and history abound. People who have seen it in film, literature, photographs, paintings.

This is so monumentally huge and I still can’t comprehend it.
