Volunteer Cassandra Bergeron piled aboard a small plane with 27 dogs, as a part of a rescue mission to save them from overcrowded shelters in Alabama.

I live in Alabama but I'm not sure what county(ies)/shelter(s) they were at. However, I'm VERY THANKFUL FOR THE WORK YOU LADIES ARE DOING! I HATE seeing dogs/cats or any other animals being hurt, abused, abandon, etc. In my county, there's no way you can possibly drive down a road & NOT SEE A HOUSE OVERRUN WITH DOGS/CATS! I've called the local police department for them to come out & get the owners in shape. That does NOTHING, even though they're told after the first time, you start facing fines, losing your animals, jail time, & the dogs/cats being euthanized because there's not enough space in our animal shelters, to keep up with the OVERCROWDED SHELTERS!
If you can't take care of your animals, find a LOVING & WARM HOME for them! I wouldn't trade my little Maltipoo for nothing in this world! She is a rescue dog. My Granddaddy took her out of somebody's yard when he saw her chained up to a tree. She had to basically choke herself in order to get food & water out of her bowl because the owners kept it that far away from her! The dog poop was all that she ran around because they had other big dogs in the yard! The owners did NOTHING to help that little precious dog. They didn't bring her into the home, or teach their bigger dogs to respect her! However, those big dogs were loved, treated with respect, allowed to come into the home, actually had steak off of the grill to eat, etc! She doesn't bark anymore but when she hears somebody, she can let you know! When she needs something, she makes this little whimper. Her vocal box was damaged from all the choking that she had done to herself when trying to get to her bowl of food & water! But she's our little baby! She is able to tell when I'm about to have a seizure, when my youngest daughter is about to have an asthma attack. When I lost my husband & the girls' Daddy, she mourned & grieved right along with us!! For a few days, she would not eat, drink, even go into mine & my husband's bedroom. Finally, I had the idea to give her a t-shirt of his. Although it was already washed & had been in the drawer for a few weeks, that helped her out!! She STILL sleeps with that t-shirt!! If a person comes around & she doesn't know that person, she becomes VERY PROTECTIVE of my girls!! She protects me, too, but she'll stand right in front of the girls & NEVER take her eyes off of the person(s) I'm talking to. I love my Nellie & wouldn't trade her for ANYTHING IN THIS WORLD! ❤️🐕❤️🐕❤️🐕❤️
