The system is built to let you know how stupid you are with a number attached to it. Own up to your mistake.
Just park in the road, then they can't give you a ticket as its the police jurisdiction.

Thank the Lord I learned about the fire hydrants from someone else, but I can tell you it was not listed in the test before getting your license. Some people out there genuinely don’t know.

They teach you not to park by a hydrant in driving school. Were yall asleep when they taught it?
they don't realise they get off lightly, only getting no stopping ticket (the lower amount) and not a fire hydrant or BOTH

In my country, if you park in front of a fire hydrant, the firefighters can damage your car in any way they want, without you getting any reperation, and no insurance covers it, because parking like that is a crime.
So if the firetruck rams your car and crush it, in order to get to the hydrant. that's your fault.
I'm still astounded at the fact that these "meter maids" can't understand that they are LITERALLY generating revenue for the city… not saving the world like they think.
