Thousands of John Deere Workers Go On Strike

More than 10,000 union members at John Deere kicked off the nation’s largest private-sector strike in two years. Employees at 14 plants across five states rejected a deal that included 5 to 6 percent wage hikes. The workers argue they deserve more since the company reported record profits this year. A John Deere spokesperson says the company will work to “understand our employees’ priorities and resolve this strike.”» Subscribe to NBC News: http://nbcnews.to/SubscribeToNBC

  1. Wish more working classes would get off couch and get active. These so called paltry wage increases are already gone due to 5-6% inflation. These corporations are laughing. When folks get mad enough things will happen. F the rest that go 2 China then let China buy their product.

  2. This is one of the effects of the rich getting richer. Execs need to lower their salaries and use that money to reinvest in their corporations and keep emergency funds. Large corporations should receive bailouts from the government. (John Deere will be asking for a bailout soon.)

  3. John Deere was months away from bankruptcy a few years ago. Now that they've had a couple of years of profitability, I don't think they're going to sign contracts that could destroy them in a few years.

  4. Covid|9 is growing and permanently stay at human BOdy's T-Cell then cause it malfunction to replicate, destroy and spread even you have fully recovered or fully vaccinated. Currently vaccine is incompetent due to vaccine maker adjust to be safe, so the victims rate is drop after vaccination. Litigation is applicable now after politicians fully approve the vaccine. This is great liberty status evolution. A lot of people having long term serious reaction even death in vaccination before, and the politicians still do not want to tell the truth.

  5. it's no a "movement" if its not coordinated, planned, and developed. Time to unify the struggles, the bosses are living like gods off their exploitation of the working class!

  6. Lol only a couple hundred comments after a few days. Nobody cares about crybaby socialist union workers making poor quality farm equipment. We in Nebraska buy Japanese equipment instead.

  7. Abolish minimum wage. Labor should be based on demand and supply. It sets a standard of entry level jobs. How can a construction apprentice make the same as much as a guy who flips burgers

  8. Nice selective reporting. It wasn't just the meager 5% to 6% wage hike. It was also the 25% increase in health coverage costs, Reduction of overtime pay, and No pensions for new hires starting November.

  9. Let them strike. These workers can't build reliable JD equipment anyway. Customers buy Kubotas and CNH equipment instead.

  10. The UAW is trash…ask them why they used the DANA union funds to approve this strike..when the Pottstown DANA plant are on a tentative agreement for 2 years and been asking for a strike..then they take the funds to approve another companies strike..UAW is corruption at its finest…
