  1. Feel free to do what's best for you! If you need to claim mental health issues, that is fine. Champions perform, you will not be the best ever anymore. Champions battle through mental and physical issues. Every sport is a mental sport. Kudos for doing what you need to do, however you don't get gold. Such is life.

  2. I guess I shouldn't be surprised at how many haters are talking crap about her withdrawal …..she is a gold medalist and is the only person in a position to make a decision on her limits. That takes bravery to make that decision.

I hope she finds peace in all this.

  3. Lol the Olympics is only every 4 years. She blew it. Better get yourself in the right headspace. If you aren't in control of your mental space, go home. A high level athlete shouldn't be having these problems.

  4. This must have hurt many who sometimes prefer medals at the expense of the athletes' mental health.
Good going Simone, 👏🏼 you are amazing and you should always put your health first. Medals are always there, but if you lose your mind, that's it. 🤗💞

  5. I tell you why she quit, I've seen this before in gymnastics. She quit cuz she knew she was out of medal contention. She was only going for one thing and when she messed up the vault it was over for her. That's why her brain was not in it anymore.

  6. It's official. The quitter Biles has quit, (err . . "withdrawn"), from her final two events. She's done, stick a fork in her.

  7. Simone Biles is my hero. When times are tough and i feel like giving up, i just give up. Simone is a stunning and brave role model for quitters everywhere.

  8. She's supposed to be better than this. She should not be praised as courageous for not competing. That is ridiculous. We should celebrate those who face their fears and battle through adversity to succeed as our heroes.

Get better, Simone. We still have the best team with alternates that will make the most of the opportunity. We should move on and pool our support for those who are still in the fight.

  9. Sucks that you spend your whole life training for these moment. day in and day out giving everything you got. Sacrificing your time to become something great, you trained to become a olympian and just when your at the very end of the greatest moments in history you Quited. World will never know if you are gold worthy, but they will know that a life is more important.

  10. Awe that was sweet of Ledecky, especially since many of Biles fellow Americans have cheered against her from day 1 and love any perceived failure of mistake that she makes. They gave Karens more understanding than this high-pressured gymnast. No one believed her about Larry Nassar, and now they waste no time blaming her for this year's silver medal (which Russia SAID they would get without Biles). That has to feel even worse than she already did.

I don't think its a coincidence that Biles and tennis star Osaka both have "more" mental issues after dating who they are currently dating. ALL women are stressed and struggling mentally while dating "those" types of men.

Let's remember how much more DANGEROUS gymnastics is as a sport in general, let alone when your head is not in the game. I've heard her compared to Lebron, saying he would not have quit. Lebron is not at as high of a risk of never walking again as gymnasts are. I hope she recovers well. ❤️

  11. GO SIMONE!!! WE LOVE YOU MS. BILES!!! TAKE CARE OF YOU FIRST!!! SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT GOOD MENTAL HEALTH AS WE NEED TO BRING ABOUT CHANGE TO THAT ARENA JN HEALTHCARE NOW MORE THAN EVER!!!! YOU'LL ALWAYS BE THE CHAMP AND A CLASS ACT!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🤗💗

  12. Everything after 2:30 is disrespectful. Just say we are so proud of her for making the decision that’s best for her. We are also proud of her as a gymnast. Literally the greatest of all time. These kinds of public discussions over her is nothing but added stress

  13. The GOAT choked, it happens to the best of them. And good for her but it wasn’t the right time. This was not just a gymnastic competition, it’s the Olympics. You pick yourself up and move on. If ANY athlete is not paying attention to their sport, ANYONE can hurt themselves. You people are giving her excuses for not doing what she was picked and chosen to do. This is not an amazing decision to come to. All of you are being apologists. And we’re not “haters” for this. You just don’t quit! Especially at the Olympics. If her mental health is so bad, then it didn’t happen overnight, so she should of withdrawn and let another girl go.
