watching from today’s perspective
I saw pics of afghan's who worked for the US demonstrating in front of the US embassy in Kabul holding signs that said, "save our lives". These afghans are trying to shame the US into helping them, but how do you shame a people who have no shame?
The US government needs to think ahead. Afghanistan will be an issue again in the future. Take advantage of these interpreters now. Use them to train a new generation of American linguists, soldiers, diplomats, special commandos, intelligence officers, etc. in all the various dialects of Pashto, Dari, Uzbek, Hazaragi, etc. Next time, lack of linguistic resources will not be a handicap for us. Instead of looking at this evacuation as a bother, realize what a great opportunity it is to prepare for the next round. Please don’t waste this once in a million years opportunity!
A compromise I'm willing to propose to the White House: We evacuate all translators, interpreters, fixers, etc. from Afghanistan. In return for the Taliban's forbearance, we send over to Afghanistan, under Taliban custody, all pro-Israel fanatics who happen to have US-American citizenship.
Just curious for those who might have some experience: why don't they want to stay and fight for the country the helped to create? Why wouldn't the families of those girls killed at school want to form some kind of unit to fight in their honor?
Taliban are against everyone they are against the children who visited the school. Taliban are against afghan teachers .
They are against the Doctors Who treat a patient in the local hospital. They are against the mother who serve with Afghan local government .
They are against all soldier and local policemen .
Taliban are against afghan nation . Taliban will fine always a reason to kill afghans .
Everyone in Afghanistan is in danger , not just interpreters .it just a big lie of US government to the world that just interpreters should be evacuated . All afghans need now an evacuation in their are Homeland . We need safe zones for all Afghans .
All Afghans are equally in danger should be equally treated by the United States government .
Ask the Kurds about the US history of abandonment.
Will they not be killed in US by stray bullets if they land in Chicago?
Bring them back but please provide good things to their family when they arrive otherwise they will get radicalized if they get thrown to Tucker carlsons of the world.

Biden signed these translators death warrant. He can make statements on the news but without US troops out there getting these folks out of the country, hundreds of these brave folks will be killed. The next time the US asks for translator help they won’t get it.
