Russia has suggested it would exchange former marines Trevor Reed and Paul Whalen for Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout. Reed’s father spent over a year in Russia trying to free his son.

  2. You gotta go with a swap, if you can 'liberate' this dude from a Russian prison. Russians play by their own rules. And so does everyone else. Our government acts like the Russians are this and that, and it's not 2+ decades ago, when a president could call another nation 'an axis of evil,' and the country is collectively mortified. It's 2021, more than half the US does not think the Biden administration is any better. You know? Wonder what they eat in a Russian prison, these days. If the UN wants a solid idea to back for global prison rights reform, they should look into basic prison food standards as a way to rehabilitate and even 'heal,' like they do in State Hospitals. Right now, Reed is going on a hunger strike. If there were prison food standards in place, and the particular prison Reed is in, got a '9' or a '10,' you wouldn't feel so bad for him. If it's a '2' or '3' and it's worse than boiled water and cabbage, get him the hell out. I don't think our prisons will miss this Russian arms dealer. Out of sight, out of mind. One less person you feel you're sticking it to, is a good thing.

  9. Hello, I am from Russia, Siberia, and I am very sorry and I condole to the parents and the guy. It is a political case for sure. Usually laws are not so strict in Russia for a fight. We had two football players fight some time ago and they got only 1,5 years each. (You can find kokorin and mamaev). He would never have 9 years for it as an ordinary citizen. May be he was a spy. Yes, sounds ridiculous, but Putin don’t do anything random. If he is not a spy, he can be released from prison earlier then 9 years, it’s a common thing for Russia too. Otherwise he needs American government help for sure.

  15. I’m sure he was drinking and he hit a cop and I bet it is true I have seen that all the time he was drinking and he deserves to have been punished now is it excessive yes but he hit a cop now if he had been black what would the story be?
