I'm riding this from the Midwest and has a child I'm your town that produces the Caterpillar tractors and I thought that they could do no wrong they could solve any problem to build things that could fix what was broken as a child I thought of all the floods that we have here in the Midwest constant flooding of a river why in the world can't we move water like the Romans did thousands of years ago why can't we take some of the rivers in Iowa and hook them up with i-80 and then along the highway and get that water to where it belongs and it's needed can't do s*** anymore men are useless they have no big ideas they can't fix a goddamn thing we're sitting here in a flood zone and water can't get towards needed what's wrong with us

2. Why do we let fresh water rivers in the Pacific northwest simply flow out into the ocean?It wouldn't be an insurmountable feat to simply reroute them to feed the Colorado river, instead of wasting it by letting it flow into saltwater all day, everyday

They did not have the luxury of an a.c. during those times. Site your source, look at the Palmer Drought index on NOAA for that year! We are know where near that kind of drought level yet, and maybe it won’t get to that extreme. The majority of Americans have forgotten their history, and the News plays on your ignorance America! Record keeping for droughts in this nation has not been around long. There are periods of extreme warming and severe dry years recorded on other continents from thousands of years ago before there was cars, and industry’s. You can throw that global warming/climate change out the window. If any of you has an argument or complaint because you believe in the convenient word “climate change” turn off your t.v. and social media and study droughts throughout history. I know that there is about 50 million people plus in the desert south west states combined. That takes its toll and puts strain on the water systems. The politicians and powers that be with their grandiose ideas 💡 can solve crises they make unknowingly or knowingly and place more burdens on us. There are good people with wonderful ideas 💡 that could solve a lot of these issues, but their voices are often drowned out by the powers that be. We have to be armed with the right knowledge and facts coming together to let those in power know what we want as citizens to be done, not the other way around to satisfy the few, so they benefit monetarily.

29. Agriculture uses 80% of the water in the SW. Shorter showers does nothing. Farmers (or government, if they want to not waste taxpayer money for once) need to start investing in drip irrigation. Israel knows. They halved their water usage.
