  1. There is no way to bring manufacturing job back to the U.S. because of the labor wages. The idea of making electric car in the U.S. is against the market.

The company "FIH" (Foxconn Int'l Holding Co.), and the fourth largest multinational automobile group in the world "Stellantis" signed a memorandum of cooperation to invest in the joint venture company “Mobile Drive”, with 50% of each party's shareholding. Headquartered in the Netherlands, the Mobile Drive's corporate goal is to integrate the different industrial advantages of the two parties, thereby shortening the development time, and providing electric vehicle drivers with a new experience through the latest technology HMI human-machine interface.

    FIH’s mother company is the Taiwan-base Honhai/Foxconn Group who is worldwide largest multinational ICT (Information and Communication Technology) manufacturing company with revenue of 190 billion US dollars in 2020.

    Stellantis is consisting of Fiat Chrysler (Fiat Chrysler) and French Peugeot Citroen (Peugeot Citroen), and each party holds 50% of the shares. It announced the merger in December 2019 and completed its operations in January 2020. From two groups, Stellantis has a total of 18 automotive brands including Peugeot, Citroën, Opel, Vauxhall, DS, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Chrysler, Dodge, Maserati, Lancia, Jeep, RAM etc. That mak it to be the fourth largest automobile group globally. The company has 400,000 employees, has operations in more than 130 countries, and has manufacturing plants in 30 countries. The group plans to launch 39 electric vehicles by the end of 2021.

    Foxconn (Taiwan name is Honhai) is a Taiwanese company having its headquarter in Taiwan, and it’s a public company listed on Taiwan Stock Market. Foxconn is worldwide largest multinational ICT (Information, Computing, Telecommunication) manufacturing company with revenue of 190 billion US dollars in 2020. It’s subsidiaries includes Japanese company Sharp and the worldwide number two LCD Screen Manufacturer “Innolux”.

    Honhai/Foxconn have manufacturing plants in Taiwan (for Information Security Products), China (consumer electronics), India, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, US, Mexico, Brazil, Europe. The famous products it manufactures such as iPhone, iPad, iMac, Sony’s devices (PlayStation), Xbox, Google’s devices, Amazon devices, Telecom products for Cisco, Nokia, Ericsson, Satellite Receivers, and Infotainment System for global Automobile Companies.
    Owing to the US-China trade war & tech war, Foxconn has to gradually move most of its ICT manufacturing plants back to Taiwan, South Asia and India, and make down-size of its operation in China.

  9. The only auto maker that is in the game is Tesla. Ford and GM are so far behind maybe 10 years or more. Chinese EV makers will eat them for lunch once they start selling EVs in the U.S. Chinese auto maker NIO will start selling their EVs in europe next year. If it wasn't for Elon Musk and his vision and ideas actually coming into fruition we would not have a single car company in the EV car game. This is all positive talk, but the reality is Ford and GM have dropped the ball again like they did in the 70s & 80s and have lost the EV market. They'll be playing a costly game if catch up if they manage to stay in business at all. You can't change a company's culture and way of doing things for 100 years overnight. Tesla is the EV car company to watch globally while Ford and GM will just be watching.

  10. Exactly, the future , you can’t have the government force things that are not ready for mass production. Look at what Obama and Biden did to clean semi truck deal in Cali. They forced people “ mainly immigrants who came from Mexico to try to make a good living from honest work “ to buy new low emissions semis. The ports in Cali wouldn’t let them pick up there if they didn’t have a new low emissions truck. They ended up owing more than they made a week and many lost everything.

  18. For electric cars to be the future they need to be affordable. Not everyone can afford an electric car due to their high prices and some people would have to save money for years just to buy one

    I knew of two professors at Manchester who lobbied the school to buy them their two on-campus charging stations.

    I could make a nuclear powered aircraft carrier the way of the future as well if you let me subsidize it for everyone and tell you that a gas powered vehicle has to be done away with. Just because the government said it’s the right way, doesn’t mean it is.

If this world servive till we see all electric we will see new crisis at that time with all the junk of wasted batteries which may mix with our waters and distroy our ecosystem and make the world acidic any way not more acidic and harmful then us humans. It's just business no one had any thing to do with climate. But our ONE and only GOD ALLAH Rabul Allamin keep a balance with in its all creations and they all obay the orders of there Creator except us, world will servive if it's not its end and recorrect it self which is going to be so hard for us to servive and there is no scape.

  29. We can either build and invest in the future or cling to the past, just like a business when the market changes. The business can change with and lead the market or double down on the present and past. Then when the business falls behind or goes belly-up, no one will be surprised. This is like Sears versus Amazon back in the 90s.
