  3. Its like watching a horror movie. People in our country are dying like mosquitoes. Hospitals are running outs of beds and oxygen. There are so many people asking for help that there is no one left to help. I feel so overwhelmed. I just look around and see how many people i knew have died in just matter of few days. Few days back our close relative died due to covid so people went to crematorium and we were given waiting time for 2 days as there no place to perform the last rites.
    Condition here is beyond word can describe .

  8. In our island in the Philippines, most business establishments require us to wear masks and full face shields indoors. There are times when I forget my face shield in the car and would be denied entry, and I start to complain silently. But once I do that, I remind myself of what India's going through right now, and that walk back to the parking lot to get my face shield no longer bothers me. At all.

  9. Even 1 death because of Chinese virus is disheartening. Now coming to pandemic situation in Bharat – it’s not apocalyptic in comparison to first wave in US . Death per million in Bharat is 136 versus 1758 in US. Yes number are increasing fast but recovery % is high too.
    Let roll some positivity and moral boost story from Bharat too ….

  26. Indians never voted for hospitals or schools..They elected politicians who offered temples, statues and converting India to a hindu only nation. They pretend to be nice now and once this is over they will rally behind leaders who spit hate and chase out Christians Muslims and Sikhs.   30. One of journalism's basic rules: Be sensitive while reporting on grief and tragedy. Yet large sections of the Western media have abandoned that rule while covering India's Covid disaster. They draw encouragement from India's own unethical media which swarms victims like vultures.

    Cremation is a very private affair in India. Showing graphic images of bodies burning on pyres represented a horrible invasion of privacy. Intrusive, voyeuristic and ratings-driven media coverage amounts to exploiting human suffering. Good journalism must rise above shock value.
