Hospital Staff Receive Panic Button Badges After Rise In Violent Patients

After an increasing number of patients became violent at Cox Medical Center in Missouri staff members were given personal panic buttons. It uses a GPS tracking system so security can locate employees when they are in trouble. KYTV’s Madison Horner reports.

  1. As a lunatic myself when I have assaulted nurses and staff they are usually not fast enough or strong enough to help themselves or let alone push a button. This is not going to save lives. People who are typically violent are not going to show you the signs or give you time to press a button. We just attack.

  2. Teachers need that also, but staff would not come. My mother was left on the bed pan for over 40 minutes. Three physical therapists found her. This happened several times but for about 20 minutes. The nurse was fired. AC also leaked on her bed.

  3. hey you can push that button all you want by the time they get to you i will turn you into paste, enjoy those useless buttons, they are useless as your screams will draw more attention then the button between your legs

  4. The minute ANYONE crosses the line they should be removed from the premises immediately and be trespassed. Their medical needs are void at that point, you are done. It's terrible that they have to carry panic buttons, but I'm glad that they have them.
