  1. This is why MLB is my first true love in pro sports. I am also a big NFL and NBA fan. Plus a 'casual fan' of the NHL and English Premier Soccer as well. With that said, MLB Opening day is the closest thing to a national sports holiday in the US and even parts of Canada too. The Super Bowl the only other day on the US sports calendar that compares is more of a Global TV show/party than a true celebration of a sport in every major city across the continent IMO. That is why MLB Baseball is so unique and special in all of sports IMO.
