Actress Lori Loughlin taken into custody in ‘Varsity Blues’ college admission scam

Actress Lori Loughlin was taken into custody by the FBI Wednesday in Los Angeles after she, fellow movie star Felicity Huffman and 48 others were charged in a $25 million college admissions scam that has prompted repercussions from Hollywood to the boardrooms of major companies.

A former cast member on the ABC sitcom “Full House,” Loughlin and Oscar-nominated actress Huffman, 56, are among 33 parents charged with conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud in the nationwide scam to get their children into elite colleges, including Yale, Stanford, Georgetown and the University of Southern California.

The feds dubbed the investigation “Operation Varsity Blues” and said it was triggered by an unrelated investigation by FBI agents in Boston.

  1. As if colleges are the institutions that do this. Pls. Job opportunities all over the world also hire based on status, connections and wealth. Hollywood celebs get their foot in the door for roles if their parents are already celebs, people run for political roles because they have the money to do so. This is all about money, and it’s across the board. This should not have shocked a single soul

  2. It's sad when you think about all those kids that worked their ass off to get into one of those colleges and be the perfect candidate only to have their spot get taken by someone that doesn't even like school.

  3. Tanya McDowell was sentenced to five years in prison solely after a larceny conviction for falsifying her son’s address to get him into a neighboring school district.  She got 5 years.  Others also have had the same fate.    Interestingly her parents got a hand slap and the daughters got nothing knowing what was happening.    Shame    Pay for someone else's tuition.  Prove to the world you are truly regretful and ashamed for white privilege.

  4. I also got scammed trying to get into oxford I paid them a sum of $5000 I was really ashamed after I was out of high school thinking I already got an admission not knowing I was scammed. Later that month out of much frustration I was looking for help to get my money back I had to get in contact with who could help I was introduced to hackbeign on insta they asked a few questions concerning the scam and some proof of payment . Well after a day and some few hours into the other I was really surprised with the refund. I got my $5000 back. Well if you got scammed in anyway you can get help from them. Hackbeign on insta or hackbeign@gmail.com they really helped me. Goodluck thank me later.

  5. Kids should get expelled , parents and coaches should do jail time but no one is holding the schools accountable . I cant believe that the schools administrators are not aware of the scandal. Its hard enough to get an education at good schools , this just makes it that much harder but as always money is power and privilege. And just like that no one is talking about it anymore. !!

  6. Here's the thing on this so called admissions scandal. It's literally been going on for over 100 years. The wealthy have been paying to get their children into exclusive colleges even though they don't meat entrance requirements for over 100 years. I find hilarious that people and the media are in such an uproar over it all of the sudden.

  7. I suspected my wife of cheating on me but I never had any proof. This went on for months, I didn't know what to do. i was so paranoid and decided to find a solution, i saw a recommendation about a hacker and decided to contact him. I explained the situation about my wife to him and he said he was going to help me.I gave him all the informations he required and afterwards i received all my wife’s phones Text messages and calls, I was hurt when i saw a picture of my wife and her lover. I feel so bad about infidelity. but i am glad Mr james was able to help me get all this information, you can contact him through Gmail : Worldcyberhackers or WhatsApp: ‪+1 (267) 877‑3020

  8. My dad at Berkeley became second runner-up against Wisconsin in the 1949 Olympics, missed out by 1 to go, imagine these two frauds stepping joining the row team with no conscience at all that they learned from their awesome parents, just because their parents have money and influence. If any one of those two kids were raised correctly they would have stood up and turned their parents in. Nowadays without God there's no morals or no consequence, at least that's what they thought!

  9. Elizabeth Warren did it….she said she was an American Indian on her admissions application to ensure admittance and preferential treatment, and it worked. Scarier yet, she's a presidential candidate. Scary

  10. This happens all the time. How do you think the Bushes, Al Gore, the Clintons, (Fulbright $ and power) got in Ivy Schools? The Obamas got in with affirmative action, etc….Harvard…the once great school that hired a fake Indian and also someone as a professor of The Constitution who obviously had never even read the constitution. Ivy league schools suck….The Bushes, the Clintons, the Obamas, Al Gore ALL ivy grads yet everyone knows NEITHER could pass a fairly given GED
