Hollywood actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin and a slew of chief executives are among 50 wealthy people charged in the largest college cheating scam ever prosecuted by the U.S. Department of Justice, federal officials said Tuesday.

Those indicted in the investigation, dubbed “Varsity Blues,” allegedly paid bribes of up to $6 million to get their children into elite colleges, including Yale, Stanford, Georgetown and the University of Southern California, federal prosecutors said.

  1. What a load of malarkey!   When I was young, many years ago, female students would sleep with their professors for grades.  Female applicants would dress in scanty clothes for "interviews".  Football players and other sports players were given huge benefits/perks/incentives.   Jocks and certain students could have other "smart" students take their tests for them to get better grades and even SAT and ACT tests could be taken by ringers.  Now admissions go to those wealthy enough to afford bribes?   Either way, many good students were bumped in favor of sports/sex/money.   I don't recall anyone going to jail back then.

  2. This is a total witch hunt with real dangerous times we live in are far as global politics go and they spin our focus to rich people exposed for using cash to get their spoiled and often dumb kids into a better school than they earned wow this is so common its apart of the ivy league administration process is what you must bribe to get in or "admission fees" get real people this is a swerve off of real news.

  3. I always enjoyed Huffman/Macy acting in movies and tv. I will NEVER support any production they are involved with. F**k them.
Ever since we found out about the world wide pedophile ring in the Catholic Church (the church that SHAMED ME as a child for being gay!!!!). it’s been one thing after the other. We do not have a functioning democracy. We live in a plutocracy!! The American Dream is a boldfaced LIE!! Police kill black men over and over with no punishment. The college loan scam has bankrupted our young adults. Why do students have to pay a big truck of cash to the middle men??? It’s not even money that goes into our govt!!!!! It goes right into the pockets of the shameless 1%. I could go on and on. Why shouldn’t we try some socialism? We are getting beat to shit now by American Democracy. My father crawled up Omaha Beach on D-Day to save Democracy from Hitler….. I’m glad he didn’t live see what’s happened to the country he loved.

  4. Watch for celebs who think they may have done something similar and that there’s a real possibility of them being exposed run to the crisis management agencies to prepare public statements etc.

  5. This has been a fact of life in the United States since the beginning. Just look at George Bush (I love him, but if his daddy wasn’t rich, he would have been a short order cook) and the trumps. They’re all dense as rocks, but have college degrees. The system is rigged. It has always been rigged. Why is everyone acting so surprised???🙄🙄

  6. What's the big deal about wealthy people paying off college administrators for preferential treatment?

How about the 100s of millions of campaign contributions given to local, state, and federal government officials in return for special interest legislation? In fact, 90% of the bills passed by the California legislature are "special interest" hand outs to the money interests of all sorts.

In fact, Obama and Hillary visited San Francisco at least 27 times to "fund raise" (a polite phrase for collecting bribes) for the Democratic party. The whole damn economy of California is fueled by government money which is being handed out to political donors.

However, the news media blithely reports this money changing like its nothing at all. So what's the big deal when a bunch of arrogant wealthy slobs get caught paying big bucks to get their spoiled brat kids into schools where they actually couldn't even qualify to clean toilets?

  7. Harvard danced away from this scandal because they have a random admission process open to all failed applicants. The names of these students are never revealed so they can never be certain how they were admitted. Schools involved in this scandal should be required to adopt this procedure for a small number of their rejected applicants for several semesters.

  8. Now now now America.. don't complain! Pull yourselves up by the bootstraps!! These kids and their families aren't asking for handouts! They earned all this right? Right America? lol

  9. This is just one of the many signs that the institution of higher indoctrination is becoming obsolete, and the publics notion towards universities is turning on its head. Good. universities nowadays reap of nepotism/ plutocracy; they hire profs based on research merit rather than teaching experience that could give less of a damn if your doing well or not. All they really are is research labs for coporations seeking research to promote new profits, and create new markets with skewed results in favor of the product; whether the results are beneficial to the public or not, they skew results in favor of their corporate employers. With the rise of Udemy/Internet, certification credentials these institions will fall in the near future. And good riddance 🤑! Now its just time to sit back and watch the student debt bubble burst 🍿.

  10. We The People ~ Have Chosen: The Facade of Greatness over Skills & Abilities, Style over Substance, Infamy over Fame and Money is our New God. Ultimately becoming the very Monsters we hate so much.

  11. From what I here, it sounds like they were mis-using rules in place for athletes? So in other words, athletes and persons with learning disabilities are held to a different standard? These type of students don’t have to have the grades that normal students have? It’s no wonder my straight A grades granddaughter could not get in. So these people are in trouble but no one wonders why the athletes and “learning disability” students are getting away with this.

  12. I think Singer should become a high paid motivational speaker “ doing whatever it takes to get what you want” he made 25 Million dollars and wrote a book about it. Genius

  13. Ps.. The sins of the parents are literally passed on to those children. They will live with the stigma of being cheaters and families of Cheaters for the rest of their lives and it is very little compared to what they actually deserve. Cannot say enough bad things about these people doing this. once again the far Hollywood left… There is a reason they speculate the California will go into the ocean and it's because of all of the liberal BS that is piled up out there!!

  14. Why isn't it deceptive advertising when a college openly admits to photoshopping black men on their admission booklet to "project a diverse image"? Vox Feb 16, 2019

  15. These are the exact same white people that will go up to a person of color, and tell them they are only here cus of affirmative action. Yet they dont know a damn thing about said poc's academic credentials. No offense but you can't be mad that people don't trust white people, they are pioneers of sneaky shit like this. And where are the Asians suing Harvard for letting in black people? Radio silence, anything not to piss off the whites they worship.

  16. Yea the kids didn't know !lol they got on a team for a sport they never play! they got S.A.T scores they know they didn't deserve but they didn't know !!They should be kicked out of school!

  17. Someone tell Asians this, maybe they will also sue all the white people getting into ivy league due to cheating. Probably not as they only care about keeping blacks and Latinos with better personalities than them, out of Ivy leagues. They don't want to anger their white Gods and Goddesses they worship so much.

  18. I don't believe this is about their concern for their kids future. These are kids who will never have to worry about where their next meal is coming from. This is about the parent's ego, being able to say my son/daughter goes to Yale, Harvard etc. This is just ANOTHER example of rich "entitlement". In William Macy's bio he says that he was a "wretched student", apparently his daughter has taken after him! I also don't think the kids are innocent in this because they had to know that others were taking the test for them or that they were supposed to be on a specific sports team. This is extremely POOR PARENTING period! Pathetic.

  19. MAGA PRESIDENT TRUMP! PRESIDENT TRUMP has UNSHACKLED THE FBI………HOLLYWOOD are trashy store bought people's! Down to hell they go! Oh…how sweet JUSTICE IS!!

  20. Jeeves, dAhhling, can you be an absolute dear and book us a couple of flights or get one of those private jet services to take us to one those countries where the USA has no legal extradtion treaty with until all this petty media nonsense blows over? I just can't be bothered with a court scene.

Afghanistan, Algeria, Andorra, Angola, Armenia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brunei, Burkina Faso, Burma, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cape Verde, the Central

African Republic, Chad, China, Comoros, Congo (Kinshasa), Congo (Brazzaville), Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Indonesia, Ivory Coast, Kazakhstan,

Start checking the flight plans of all commercial and private jet services – there should be a surge in people wanting to go to these countries right about now !!!

  21. What's the difference between college cheating and automatically cheating whites who are not perceived as minorities who are allowed lower standards?

  22. Oh trust me. It doesn't stop there. I'm sure those spoiled brats didn't even attend classes. Just pay someone to do your schoolwork. If the feds don't dig that far, they'll have dropped the ball IMO.🤬
