I'm very impressed with this man. He has handled this situation better than I have ever seen. I feel very badly for him and the rest of his family. He makes no excuses or justifications for his son.
I can see the pain in his eyes, and it wasn't for his own son. I hope he and his family have been allowed to live their lives as normally as possible. May God grant them peace.

Its ok to call the kidnaping of a girl and murder of her parents a henious crime. There is no shadowy doubt area here.

Y’all just glossed over the part where he said “ that’s the girl I’m gonna take “ like that was a normal thought. Never in my life have I had a thought similar to that. Seems to me there’s a backstory missing. How in the heck did he get to the place where he was plotting to snatch anyone?
I kinda feel bad for Patrick Patterson, he's been nothing but respectful and gracious in deference to Jayme and her family since she managed to escape his son. Obviously, they're going to be apprehensive about communicating too much with him at all, but I think anybody with eyes can see he's just as stunned and mystified about the circumstances as anyone else.
That being said, he REALLY needs to leave Jayme and her family alone!
Apparently he was trying to pass Jayme some kind of note, or message, although it's unclear exactly what it said. And, he's attempted to friend request her on Facebook a couple of times, as if she's NOT a friggin' LITTLE GIRL whose parents were murdered by his son, who also happened to have abducted her for 88 days!
He's tried getting the sentiment across through the media that he "feels heartbroken," about what happened to her.
And, although I'm sure she'd appreciate the sentiment, it's the LAST thing she needs to hear, from the LAST Person in the World she needs to hear anything from.
He obviously means well but it's just crossing the line, you know what I mean?!
Let her be a kid and get her life back as close to "Norma" as she can, and stop trying to make it all about YOU, pal.
She's had enough drama for one lifetime lol he really needs to start focusing more on his own.

I guess Jake Patterson and Chris Watts were held in the same Prison together for a while, (maybe still, i don't know,) and apparently even became friends, both being inmates held together in the same Protective Custody cell block with one another, segregated from the general population. (For obvious reasons.)

Could you imagine. At your kids house for a visit during Christmas, and they've got a child kidnapped under their bed, after murdering the child parents.
They would have heard and known about the murders and missing child, which is brutal.
That killer looks like a deluded killer…something quite sinister about his stare…
Did they ever say what the motive was? Was he a sexual predator or was he just keeping her in his house like a pet?
