12. As a low paid American citizen who is a construction worker, I have absolutely zero sympathy for government employees who arent getting a check until the govt reopens. I have watched my wages stagnate. I have had fellow citizens tell me "We only hire Mexicans". I have stood in the grocery store to watch an hispanic pay for his groceries with an EBT card and load them into a new late model pickup truck in the parking lot. Its time to share the burden and it just happens to be federal employees. Honesty, i dont fucking care. I dont care about your kids or your mortgage or your bills , I care about mine.

13. This is a wake up call. If u ever get a pay rise. Set it aside for rainy days. If possible keep 20-30% of salary for emergency.
