  1. Choices can make or break you in life. The fact she wanted to stay a extra day was her worst choice ever because I sicko was living next to her RIP. If this was a black women they wouldn't of said a American women they would of said African American woman.

  2. Costa Rica is completely dangerous, per capitad the rate of the homicides are high for an small country. Is more high than Dallas and Houston.

And is going on, and on every year. Now I know the US department, THATCHED AS LEVEL 2

  3. Safety shouldn't be a 'priority' unless its a shi*-hole corupt country (if you want to call it a country). The two things I'll 'book' if forced to visit this 'paradise'….1) life insurance 2) a hunting license so I can pack heat…

  4. I feel so bad for the family. They must feel helpless and guilt. I hope they catch the mother fucker who did this and pull his teeth and nails out with pliers before they execute him.

  5. The pure life here in Costa Rica, it's definitely a lie, the corruption of the law and the discrimination against expatriates is very big. Ticos like to take advantage of tourist and expatriates who lives here. They are opening their eyes in the actuality.

Very beautiful country, but people is completely bad.

  6. I'm Dominican, was born there but came to US as a boy. Any kid who grew up in the eighties had the shit scared out of them with tales of abducted and dead children. We didn't have it as bad as John Wayne Gacy, but we had it bad. TV shows, commercials, and "America's Most Wanted", kept our commonsense sharp. Later on as a young adult, I joined AmeriCorps NCCC in mid-1990s. The work projects took me to some odd places. I learned from my older peers, and through the experiences had the chance to hone my outdoors and traveling skills.

Thing is that Carla and I are not that far apart in age, but she just seems a little too trusty and she liked to share her adventures. The news has had no shortage of pictures and videos of hers to highlight her looks and her travels. Thing is, that she was beautiful and all her activities attracted the wrong kind of attention. I'm a dude, and on an AirBnB stay, the hostess offered me sex. She also almost yelled at me for leaving the porch light on. Nice lady, but I wasn't going to fuck her; I sensed crazy.

On a different trip, I decided to ride my bike through the desert in Nevada to California. I came prepared with an ice axe to defend myself against animals and any humans with bad intentions. One doesn't just set off into the desert and hope for the best. I refuse to end up as a filler story on Dateline.

People on vacations just make mistakes, and unfortunately Carla made the mistake of trusting a stranger in a place that was unfamiliar to her. I hate to put down Latin American countries, but life in the Americas just isn't as respected and held as valuable. Look around on gore sites and read about Honduras or Brazil, it will flay the naïveté off your skin like butter. Officials in Costa Rica are well-aware of their shortcomings in policing, enforcement, and punishment, but they don't care. The only picture released of the suspect has him facing away from the camera. It's how murderers and rapists remain anonymous. Year after year women have disappeared, been raped, and killed in CA, but policing has remained the same.

If you want to see how a civilized country handles a murder, look to New Zealand: https://youtu.be/gdnuWaBm6Mc?t=18

  7. As an American of Costa Rican heritage I am deeply saddened and my heart goes out to the family and friends of this beautiful woman. This murder was a hideous violent act by a terrible coward of a man. I have read some disgusting comments about Costa Rica and the Costa Rican people in these posts. The country of Costa Rica did not kill this woman, a sexual predator who was not Costa Rican committed this awful crime. I've read posts here that state that he killed her cause she was American? The killer would have attacked any woman who he felt was vulnerable and alone. This is a horrible act and women are too often the victims. Traveling alone for anyone anywhere can be dangerous. Costa Rica has the oldest democracy in latin america. It is a peaceful country and its people will give you their hearts and clothes off their backs. The literacy rate in Costa Rica is about 95 percent. Its a small and naturally beautiful country and usually quiet. Every country has crime and deals with illegal activity. Crime has no borders. Evil people hurt others regardless of where they come from. When something beyond terrible like this happens everyone there feels the pain. For those critical of the entire Country of Costa Rica… Please look at your own country's history and crime statistics before judging or making senseless comments. Mass shootings, church shootings, Mall shootings, Race shootings, School Shootings, Concerts shootings and all the horrible things that happen in USA is not part of life in Costa Rica. When those terrible things happens here, no one blames the entire country of USA? All I can say is that bad people exist everywhere. I am deeply troubled that this crime happened to that lovely woman and especially in Costa Rica. A woman should be able to travel alone and be safe but predators exist every where in the world. May she rest in peace. May he be made to suffer every minute of his disgusting life.

  8. I was the 1st to say EXACTLY what happened and who did it days ago on a comment…Im glad police snd detectives read my comment and theory and got the guy !!!

  9. This is so sad 😞. Clearly the security guard had been watching her and knew that her sister had left and that she was alone. I believe he saw an opportunity to make a move on her when she asked for water. From what I read his apartment was next to hers. You never leave anyone behind. You come together, you leave together. My heart goes out to the family 😢

  10. Ok she met someone and wanted to stay an extra day to hang out with the dude. She didn't want to sound like a slut so she just said imma stay another day. Why would u stay alone in another country as a female unless u have someone u want to bang or whatver before you leave. Unfortunately she probably got rape and kill . Sad but we have it good here in American. Over in other countries, u won't get the protection the laws can do for u here. Js

  11. Most of the victims in this type of murder are young women. People have to remember that there is no "paradise" and that we must be vigilant in every country because there are bad people everywhere.

  12. Rose McGowan and Barbara J Hall were hired by Polita Barnes as hitmen to murder Amy Knorr of Leisure Vale in Glendale, CA.

Motive: halting information and further work on the report The Spanish Connection and fear of lawsuit.

  13. This is what happens when you go to a different country and try to act the same way you do back home, instead of laying low she wanted everyone to know she was from the U.S on vacations.
Sickos everywhere and you never know who's watching.
