This is what u call a burglary gone very very wrong. I don't believe they went there with the intention of murdering anyone at all. Maybe they assumed no one was home, however there had been at least 1 similar case in a similar area not long before this crime. In that case the intruders snuck in and tied up the family, only major difference was no one was killed. I believe they ambushed jim while he was dealing with the dogs and bringing them in. They tied him up and promised not to hurt he or his family if he cooperated , that they just wanted to rob them. I think the other intruders started to look for stuff around the house, likely all separately. Maybe sandy scared 1 of them bc she was in the closet getting clothes? Perhaps they reacted in a way that they were unable to subdue her the same way as Jim and she did not have the belief that the ppl just wanted to rob them and not harm them, so she struggled while being tied up and they konked her head either by accident or to get her to comply. No one has been killed at this point. So when she went into a seizure it freaked them out bc they probably thought they killed her, and that is not at all what their plan was. Meanwhile as all this ruckus takes place, jim hears her being attacked and his cooperation ends as he now is going to attack the intruder near him. These 2 events are taking place at the same time. So u have sandy who panics, which causes the intruders to panic and she is struck in the head causing more panic bc they think they killed her, which then causes jim to panic, all of this culminates in a brutal long lasting fight to the death between Jim and intruder. His defensive wounds show he fought back extremely hard, likely causing the intruder to panic more and forcing him to defend himself during some parts of this fight. Ultimately Jim lost and sadly he was just an arms length away from getting to his gun.
Then there is the investigation. Some of it was botched from the beginning and some of it was botched on purpose imo

Anytime I ever hear of a story where there are several victims involved they don't need one of the victims have been murdered it is a big red flag to me that the other person may be involved because if they were going to kill one of the victims for whatever reason why wouldn't they kill all of them why would they just tie her up and put her in the bedroom but murder him – beat and stabbed to death it doesn't make sense
how he was murdered so brutally but she did not even lose 1 drop of blood ? was she a killer’s lover ? if no why that person only killed him not her ?
why the killer did not kill her but him? why a person did not have enemy and got killed and she was not injury

She certainly could not have bound her own arms in such a manner. But why was she left alive and not her husband? Either she truly was a victim or she conspired with her husband's murderer(s).

that woman tied herself up she definitely killed her husband if it was an intruder he's not gna just let one of them alive he's gna kill them both to try to avoid being caught ! that's my opinion on it for sure as soon as they mentioned about the woman being tied up and the ties were in the front that's self in flicked also it's friggin obvious cause she's alive I didn't even finish watching this but like I says it's not that hard to figure out

seems really obvious this poor old lady was hit over the head and tied up Bound in her closet while her husband was viciously murdered and then these a whole cops couldn't take the time to do real police work and find out who it was and pointed the finger at her I wish the Innocence Project would pick this case up!
This is a really sad case there was no history of domestic violence Affairs or any actual motive. Life insurance is purchased to take care of household responsibilities Necessities after one or the other spouse dies just because you prepare financially for the future does not mean that your wife killed you. That logic doesn't make any sense. The lack of physical evidence should have been enough for an innocent verdict. They talked about all the multiple defense wounds that the man had but yet she had no Cuts bruises or blood on her explain that one?
How did she tie herself up and wedge the chair under the closet handle? Where was their daughter?

Hmm still waiting for part 3, even though I know the story just like watching to make sure my heart goes out to the right people. I'm still on the she's guilty side.
She still claims she is innocent and in prison for nothing. Her story doesn't make sense but I really wanted it to, I wanted her to be innocent, however I can't side with her when the story doesn't add up.
