There is only one thing that can stop the fires which is people smoking camp fires and lighter's
The “dust” masks the farm workers are wearing only filter out particulates like dust or ash. Not fumes. You need a gas mask to filter any fumes aka gas. The dust masks or any mask are uncomfortable to wear when you are doing heavy labour because you have to breathe through them. Try running with a dust mask on and you will understand what I’m talking about. When you see firefighters wearing masks they have an air supply on their back that is feeding them good, oxygen rich air so they are able to work in a smoke filled environment. The tanks don’t last very long though. The cost for a farm to provide their workers with that is prohibitive. It would be cheaper to shut down until the smoke clears. Unfortunately the harvest time is now.

It is not that climate change caused the fire(s) – rather, climate change has been clearly shown to make such disasters more likely and worse when they do occur.
There used to be a saying – Speak truth to power. Perhaps it's time to change that to "When will power speak truth?"
