Isn’t polygamy illegal in Utah? I know that you can do whatever you want when it comes to religion as long as you’re not breaking the law, but after the reports of the abuse and neglect of children and mothers why is nothing being done seriously.

What bible do they read? If they read one at all, I'm a Christian and this FLDS church (cult is probably a better name) sounds terrifying, the bible specifically forbids adultery and it also speaks of nurturing your children and taking care of them, which FLDS does the exact opposite of

Amazing the power one man is allowed to have over intimidating that many people. I'm so sorry for the trauma that these people suffer at the hands of men that say it is in the name of religion. God is love and this is anything BUT love. I am so sorry Andrea. I feel for all of you and especially all those that are still stuck there feeling there's no way out. You all that are doing this are giving people hope and a place in life. By being out you are showing them that there is a way. You represent hope to those of your people that need that from you all. Keep that thought with you all the time. I've had a bad marriage in the past that was similar to this in some respects. It was very traumatic to remain and about as bad to leave. But I knew if I stayed, I would lose myself completely. That's what I see in the people that "fight" so hard for the FLDS and it's convoluted ways. It's the only way they can make sense of it. There are a lot of reasons to stay when it is all you have ever known. But the need for change does eventually overtake you. Keep it going, you are a beacon. All of you ladies are phenomenal.
