  1. I'm sorry, but Wright was slightly the cause of his own death. He was rightly arrested by the cops for an offence. He should've just obeyed and not struggle. This is completely different from a number of other police homicides that we've seen

  2. I feel disgusted after reading the comments. So you guys have never made a mistake at work right? It’s crazy that she is even on trial over this. Unfortunately mistakes happen during stressful times. She was extremely unlucky. Are you sure you would never make a mistake like this? Negligence would be a doctor or engineer who never cared to study enough causing harm or a Police officer who decided it would be a good idea to shoot a sign for fun and ended up killing someone. What she did was not negligence, it was a mistake ANYONE could make. The prosecutors who want to destroy her life are just evil. Im so mad about this. So unfair.

  3. A horrible tragedy all around, with plenty of blame for everyone.

I would suggest that Ms Potter should be held to a higher standard. Being hired by any government entity to carry a firearm requires that. The idea of having a "less than lethal" weapon essentially operate in a similar manner as a sidearm – even if on the other hip – does increase the chances of an accidental firearms discharge. Finally, each police officer is walking into a potential ambush when making a stop. They have to be aware of that every second or their family is gonna get real tired of hearing "Amazing Grace" on the bagpipes. When the subject of the stop is suddenly pegged with outstanding firearms warrants, and we're ratcheting up the tension and potential for a bad day.

If anyone wants to greatly reduce the chances of bleeding out from a sucking chest wound, I would strongly recommend compliance when met with a superior force. This reduces the chance of being shot by someone in blue pointing anything in my direction. This is no time to shout, "Sovereign Citizen!" or "You can't do anything to me, I'm innocent!" At this point it would save everyone time if you'd just shout out your next-of-kin. In case you didn't know, the po-po are not the ones to pass judgement… that would be a magistrate or judge down the road. If you don't want to continue to demonstrate what a "man" you are, you'll likely be doing it from a body bag. Your Momma – and I – love you more than that. Be cool and stay alive.

  4. Another “mini” thug bites the dust!…..DOES NOT MATTER TO ME!…I feel for the lady officer!…SHE is the victim of todays political BULLSHIT!…she was just doing her job!….ARRESTING A RESISTING CRIMINAL “MINI”/STUPID THUG!…who had already “declared” a gun in the car!…in the heat of the moment, she rightfully got the upper hand!….ITS: YOU BANG, or I BANG!….BANG BANG YOU ARE DEAD!…..MORALE:…CRIMINALS END UP DEAD, OR IN PRISON,! Even the “best/worst” of them!…( EXAMPLE?….El Chapo)…END OF STORY!..

  5. If wright had not acted so impulsively, he would be alive today. If Potter had not been an absolute idiot, Wright would be alive today.

At the end of the day, it was a terrible tragedy, but one that has consequences. And Potter needs to face those consequences. She is 100% guilty, of manslaughter. That's what that law is for. She took a life due to her negligence.

  6. Terrible loss and waste of a life. The biggest mistake I see after watching the trial is the decision to try to resist arrest and try to drive off with the officers leaning in the car. At that point, any officer would be justified in using deadly force to protect the lives of themselves or the other officers if the car was put into reverse or drive. It will be kind of hard for the jury to convict this officer for attempting to use what she believed was less than deadly force when the use of deadly force would be justified. She is not charged with negligence, which will be the subject of a civil trial. It was a terrible mistake with a terrible outcome, but will the jury be able to convict when the force that was used would also be justified given the circumstances?
