  1. Wait till they realize the union takes money from their checks. Then will be a pain getting help from them. Was part of a union and I did better on my own. I hated having money come from my check to that as well it add up to.

  2. What a load of BS.
If you need a Union, then you're not attempting to advance.

If you're planning on working at Starbucks (or anywhere in the fast food industry), then you must accept your own fate.
Fast food employment, and yes that does include Starbucks, is a job where you can't think of yourself as career oriented.

Either you attempt to advance, by educating yourself, or you'll always be stuck working in fast food.

Unions, today, are for lazy people. People that aren't hirable anywhere else, because they refuse to train.

If you choose to stay in fast food, that's on you. You could choose to educate yourself, either by your own work or in college (both are valid).
When you're "stuck" at a fast food level job, it's because you refused to improve yourself.

Unions only harm everyone else, but you don't care about that because you only want what's good for you.

  3. We need steady employment that offers consistent customer service and provide products that meet/exceed expectations and that should be available to employees at Starbucks. I think it’s contentment and a good thing.

  4. Good for them, but consumers will simply choose the less expensive Starbucks down the street or buy from another chain.

  5. Congratulations! You have a job that is meant for teenagers just entering the workforce and your 40? What is your leverage? Most of the employees that voted in the union. Will not be employed there in a year. My coworkers voted in a union. They promised the world to us. After 2 years of lies and getting robbed of our benefits and pay. (They told us we had a contract for 2 years! We DID Not!) I filed the paperwork and after the union fought us voting them out. They finally had to let us vote. The USW was ran out by a vote of 23 to 11. We got our benefits back the same night!

  6. Unions created the middle class by helping members negotiate for better pay and benefits. Before unions we only had the rich and the poor. Strong unions create a strong country!!!

  7. I remember working for Delta Airlines many years ago, and they encouraged unionization. Their reasoning was sound, if you wish to reduce benefits, reduce pay by 15%, and reduce holiday pay, please by all means vote yes!

  8. Idiots do not realize that nothing is going to change except paying dues and they will notice that their BA will be driving in a expensive car have expansive suits and only care about dues and not workers and I have been in union for 25 years and finally left and make more money now.

  9. If the employees put as much effort into improving their skill sets, they would make more money somewhere else. Squeezing some bennies out of a major Corp seems like a waste of time.
