If people don't pay their loans, the interest keeps accumulating. How much longer will we have covid for, Mr Schumer? The president makes it sound like the pandemic will be here for a long time. Will you keep extending it and extending it? Hopefully, most people with students loans are working now. And if not, I hope they are looking for work. But if they keep putting off paying monthly payments, their interest will be rediculously high.

People that go to college or (higher education) are more suited to pay off a loan due to being higher up in the pay bracket.
Most folks don't go to college to put themselves in crippling debt, they go to make a good living. I make a good living ,and did not go to 4 years of party's and booze. If you make 80-100K a year a $200 a month student loan payment is well within budget.

All of our children had to pay their loans Tons of part time jobs. I am retired I don’t want to be paying anymore taxes than I pay already.

Isn't there a labor shortage put there, it sounds like people need money to pay back debt. Maybe they need to pick up some of these jobs that are unfilled to pay back their loans. Who would of thought that you had to pay back what you barrow
College loans should be given like other loans, based on your ability to pay. If you pick engineering, computer science, medicine, trade school, you are a better risk than political science, women's studies, or some ridiculous major that won't pay the bills. Yes it's really that simple. College advisors need to be honest with students, pick the wrong major and you wasted your money.
You take out a "LOAN" you pay it bake that simple! If you cant pay the "LOAN" back , then don't take it out, that simple! After you have signed the papers, is not the time to do the math and realize you have no realistic way or desire to pay it back!
