Police say that Jacqueline Avant, the wife of famed music executive Clarence Avant, was shot and killed in their home. Authorities arrested Aariel Maynor after he allegedly broke into another home.

As the person who called 911 when he shot himself right outside my bedroom, I am so glad he did. I had heard rummaging and wrote it off as a roommate, and continued to lay in bed with my room illuminated. When the AR-15 went off and the man began to scream I realized it was a complete stranger. He crawled out with out belongings and continued screaming for help, I closed and held my door shut and kept the lights off and called 911. He also called 911 for himself, knowing the exact address he was at. Long story short, I cannot believe what he did and why in the world he ended up in my home, but I am so glad he shot himself before finding me or my dad. He could’ve gotten away, I could be dead, RIP to Jacqueline Avant. I’m not religious, but thank the lord he messed up and got himself caught.
