1. If the vaccine is not as effective against Omnicron versus Delta, as per preliminary data, then both unvaccinated and vaccinated are at risk of hospialization and worse.

We need 2 hospital systems in every city. One for vaxxed patients and one for unvaxxed patients. If we don't do this, all hospital systems will be full with the unvaxxed sick.

I'm tired of COVID just as much as anyone else (ICU clinician for almost 10 years), but our pleas have and always will continue to fall on deaf ears….it's exhausting to have to drum up what little empathy I have left for patients, especially after going on fumes for 22 months, and with the holidays upon us, well, people are gonna do what they wanna do.
It sucks, but the reality is most people in this country don't give 2 shits about what we see and deal with day in and day out. If people actually cared even one iota, we would've beaten this thing within a year, and now my colleagues and I live in fear and dread of COVID possibly evolving into something that medical science can't control…..but hey, go ahead and do whatever you want when you're out in public……you never listened to us then, I'm not expecting you all to listen now……hope it's all fun and games cuz Mother Nature is often the one that gets the last laugh.
