So housing probably does inspection once a year. In between that time if battery dies is it up to tenant to replace or battery? Way too many people get annoyed by the warning beep and remove battery. That 5 dollar battery will save your life. Housing will get sued anyway even if it's up to the tenant.

Management checks our smoke detectors a few times a year. Each apartment has at least two detectors. The fact that none of the smoke detectors in that apartment complex worked is odd. My smoke detector goes off if I burn toast. And God help me when the battery is low causing it to chirp sharply every sixty seconds.
Please provide list of the persons losing their jobs over this. The smoke alarms were obviously not maintained

I don't know how the newscaster can hold himself together while reporting this. You can tell that he was fighting to hold back the tears when the video first started. The quiver in his voice, the different tone than normal and the way he was talking made it apparent that he was fighting to keep from breaking out in tears. Non working smoke and fire detectors, killed so many, sounds like a big law suite to me housing authority will be held responsible for these deaths. And so many children dead, this is big time baby plenty of deaths the housing authority will have to answer for..battery is like 2 bucks the insurance claims and law suits will top millions of dollars.

Seven children lost in this fire. Tragic, yes and my heart grieves for them. My heart also grieves for the millions lost to abortion. Deliberately robbed of their God-given right to live their lives. Why is it that children who are valuable humans following birth, are worthless tissue during their pre-birth stage of development? God – and many people – do not see it that way.
