Their contract does not allow strikes, Yet again, Mayor lightheaded does nothing. When are the tax payors, people of Chicago going to step forward, and take back control of their city from democrats, who allow murder, crimes, riots, reduce police safety, and now the teachers union to run all over the tax payor who pays their salary. Say it again just another Democrat fxxx up. Democrats can't govern, are you not tired of being told to go fxxx yourself from the democrats???

11. You all keep saying you want the high schoolers to be prepared for college life, well this "virtual schooling" has been part of it for years as well as the stress it causes.😅
    Have none of you ever listened to college student rants about their math class or science class being a hybrid class or the class suddenly got shifted to full online? They've been ranting about it for years, how online science and math classes are way too difficult to do online unless you already know what you're doing. This isn't new.😅 Great job paying attention everyone.

    When all the schools started going virtual and the High School kids began complaining about their maths and sciences and the stress and all their assignments and what they don't understand, the college students and all those who graduated having this experience already were all a bit flabbergasted going, "welcome to college.✊ If you plan on attending, this is the norm."

    Better to learn to be a bit self-driven in a free to attend High School than try to figure it out at college where money and time is on the line.
    Note: Being self-driven and motivated does not mean doing everything on your own. It means having the foresight and intelligence to seek out free tutoring on subjects you struggle with. Taking advantage of free online scholarly videos and websites that show you step-by-step processes if that's all you have at your disposal.

12. Why is everyone obsessed with attending physical "brick and mortar" educational institutions when learning can actually take place anywhere. You don't need a building to learn.

    The only children I believe need to attend physical "brick and mortar" educational institutions are those children attending special education with an individualized education program. They already struggle and in some cases are behind and don't do well with schedule interruptions which cause serious learning setbacks and emotional distress.

    Other than that you don't need to fulfill some randomly determined "seat time" number to say you've been educated.

    Everyone against online learning and homeschooling keeps quoting "studies say self study doesn't work" . Yet it has and for many who test well and lead successful lives.
    Parents do have the intelligence to educate their own offspring to a certain point and also teach their children to be self motivated. The only subjects that might need outside education are higher level Sciences including Maths.

    Is it not sad that we live in a society where monetary needs make it impossible for children to remain with their parents and receive an education?
    The majority of people have kids and keep them (if the kids are lucky) for 4 to 5 years and then from that time on send them off somewhere else for 8 hours a day the rest of their lives and that's supposed  to be normal.

    And all these kids getting on the news complaining "we need to go to school" 🤣 You know that translates to "we want to hang with our friends".
