I never saw the Crazy Rich Asians movie.
There is no black brown White yellow grey etc etc we all humans. HUMAN IS OUR IDENTITY. PERIOD.
As an Asian I couldn't stand London Tipton as a kid but I did/do live ATLA.
They do have some Asian voice actors for Avatar the Last Airbender. One of them being Uncle Iroh. The clip they played was the replacement VA who was trying to sound like Mako (the original VA who sadly passed away before the conclusion of the show). I don't think most of the characters tried to sound Asian. Zuko has an accent but it's not stereotypical Asian and Dante Basco (the VA for Zuko) is Asian.
So, let me get this straight, you're saying it was the 2D characters on t.v., that the children saw a couple of hours a week, that shaped their self image and not the parents they lived with for 18 years of their lives? The parents who fed them, dressed them, provided emotional and financial support were overshadowed in the shaping of their self image by the f*cking t.v.?
Edit: I hope the sarcasm shines through.
