  1. Stupid people doing stupid things, place heater next to flammable bedding, overcrowded apartments full of too many kids junk etc, no smoke detectors, no attempts by the tenants to fight the fire, etc etc…

  2. The second most cause of house fires is heating and 80% of that is portable heaters. So instead of requiring higher standards for portable heaters, you require self-closing doors so when the heater catches fire it doesn’t spread as fast. Sounds like side-stepping the issue.

  3. Low income housing and no escape plan installed? I'm not surprised lives were lost, this was a death trap. Sue this MF's and go after the politicians as well. Heads need to roll.
