States Advance A Deal With Purdue and Sackler Family Over Opioid Crisis

The Sacklers will pay more than $4.3 billion dollars of what’s expected to be an $8 billion settlement, with $750 million being set aside for individuals. Nine states and Washington, DC oppose the deal, though they’re not expected to be able to stop it. Sandy Blankenship, whose adoptive daughter was born dependent on opioids, tells NBC News’ Kate Snow that there’s no amount of money that would compensate for the lifelong therapy her daughter will need.» Subscribe to NBC News: http://nbcnews.to/SubscribeToNBC

  1. ZERO time in prison for these drug cartel family. Good Job AMERICANS. Corruption, murdering millions is LEGAL for billionaires

  2. The courts are part of the judicial system, a system supposedly dedicated to justice.
Money doesn't not equal justice in some scenarios. America has forgotten that. It seems money rules all.
Prison (not billionaire prison) for a decade seems more than fair, but it would never happen. God or the highest power help us.

  3. It's ashamed they stood by and let this happen many children of all races is harm by their greed! And they go on like nothing happened I hope the AG think of the children and not the sackler they get a tap on the hand while children lives……. AG do something for the ppl not the wealthy that have BILLIONS SAD SAD.

  4. The Prudru Pharma. And the Sackler family did broke the LAW. So they pay or go to JAIL like the rest of the citizens in America. The full settlement was 8.3 Billion dollars. The Sackler go to jail or lose everything to the victims. If you caught me dealing drugs I would go to jail as a citizens. And they would take everything from me. So why do the RICH can walk away from breaking the LAW.

  5. How's this for a deal: "you Sacklers are going to give up every penny you have, every position you hold, and everything you "own", and go flip burgers at McDonalds or we're going to lock you in a box for the rest of your lives".
    .

  6. 12k isnt even enough to cover 1 yr of the care , help , support etc she needs or the ongoing help and support she will need for life .
