Reconstruction Of TWA Flight 800 To Be Destroyed 25 Years Later

For years, a reconstruction of TWA Flight 800 served as a critical training tool and led to recommendations that have changed the way aircrafts are designed. Now the NTSB says the reconstruction has served its purpose and will be destroyed out of respect for the victims’ families.

  1. What caused TWA Flight 800 to crash?

How did all the pieces, sections and debris wind up in the three different debris fields? In debris field three closest to JFK Airport, pieces of the plane reportedly flew from the plane at supersonic speeds. It would seem the distance these items flew from the plane perpendicular and to the South of the plane’s pathway that an explosion occurred inside the plane. From a physics standpoint, how did this occur?

The Left Wing and Left Center Wing Tank Fuselage were never found which separated from the main fuselage of the plane seconds after the first explosion when the Inner Left Wing Tank and Center Wing Tank exploded.

  2. It's gonna just end up as scrap metal anyways, melted down into Toyota frames. The only way of preserving the memories of those lost is to preserve it, not make it into cars.

  3. TWA's flight 800 was sabotaged so that it would crash and cause its credibility to plummet including its stock so that it could be bought out by American Airlines. Just capitalism at its finest which is exploitation, cutthroat, and corruption!

  4. This is truly a bad decision by the NTSB, I don’t understand why the families WOUDLNT want it to be put on display as a memorial…
RIP TWA 800, it’s passengers, and now it’s reconstructed wreckage. 🙁

  5. It’s wrong to destroy the plane. Keeping it the way it is would be a very professional thing to do keeping the memories alive of those poor 230 souls that lost their lives so unexpectedly on that horrible scorching hot muggy night. It’s a nice thing to do for the families in honoring them.

R.I.P. all you 230 souls, even though I was only 13 then when this happened, it breaks my heart to hear exactly how you all died on that awful tragic humid night. Know that I have not forgotten about you all and never will. 😥😢😢😥😥😥😢😢😢 gosh you poor souls. Just devastating to hear your final 12 minutes after takeoff from JFK airport on that flight ended like this so suddenly. So devastating. It really is. I feel for your family too guys. May God continue blessing them with his healing and strength and comfort.

  6. Anybody ever wondered why the only vessels on the scene were private and commercial fishing vessels? Where was the Navy? After repeated calls by the Coast Guard to the Navy to aid in the search for survivors, the Navy refused to answer any of those calls. This was confirmed on the communication logs. After the Navy had realized their grave mistake of shooting the plane down, over 20 Navy vessels had bugged out of the area at FLANK speed. And that's the reason we never saw any Navy ships on the scene of the accident immediately after it happened.

  7. TWA-800 had penetrated the southwest perimeter of an active Navy ordinance exercise zone. There were over 20 Navy vessels, including two submarines that were firing missiles at target drones being fired from one of the surface destroyer ships. TWA-800 was misidentified as a drone target. One missile targeted the heat signature made by the third engine, the second missile targeted the initial impact made by the first missle. Retired Brigadier Gen. Benton K. Partin later acknowledged that it was his weapons design used in those missiles that brought down the plane. The 'faulty fuel tank wiring' plot was a known defect that did exist in the first Boeing 747's when they wer introduced in 1969. However, In September of 1969, Boeing had ripped out all the wiring in their previous wiring in those planes and re-designed the center fuel tank all together. The TWA-800 was built in 1971, therefore, the 'faulty wiring' issue no longer existed. The Clinton administration, NTSB, FAA, FBI, and CIA used the 'faulty wiring' issue from 1969 as propaganda to cover up the Navy's mistake of accidently bringing down that aircraft..

  8. I traveled to Paris in September of that same year , but on a different airline and I admit I was a bit shaken by all this .
May they all Rest In Peace 🙏

  9. For those criticizing the destruction of the wreckage, please know that the NTSB previously reached agreements with families of the victims to NOT incorporate pieces of the wreckage into any kind of public memorials.

Because the wreckage has no more functional use and it can’t be publicly displayed, the only reasonable action is to recycle/dispose of it.

    TWA 800

Mr. George Noory word on the street that we had to shoot down TWA 800 because they feared the hijackers we're going to send it plummeting into the city and create a massive catastrophe… A decision not taking lightly 200 or more airline passengers or thousands maybe more unsuspecting citizens in the city minding their own business…

    Secrets

    Do you have any secrets???

    Not anymore!

  11. After a four-year, $40 million investigation — the longest in the history of the National Transportation Safety Board — board officials concluded that an electrical failure ignited fuel vapors in a nearly empty tank in the belly of the jet.

  12. Okay, the cables got old and caused a short circuit inside of the fuel tank. And that’s why TWA 800 exploded.
However, what kind of engineer is getting the idea to mount cables into a fuel tank? That’s the issue which I do not understand as an engineer. 🤦‍♂️

  13. Destroying the remaining structure of the TWA Flight 800 IS THE SAME as destroying the Nazi Concentration Camps remaining structures because it is "over" and victims need to be respected.

KEEP TWA FLIGHT 800 with us!

  14. Was terrible. We were out on LI for the summer at my uncles. Does seem like yesterday. My son is 25 now & both my uncle & husband are gone 🙏🏻

  15. So this is the one that people witnessed a missle shootdown, didn't they all even actively identify the same type of missle when shown different missle launches by the military?

  16. What's wrong with preserving HISTORY, folks? My GOD, this PC-crap is out of control. Why do we have the Smithsonian and other museums? Ridiculous.

  17. Every TWA pilot at that time knows that it was NOT caused by an "electrical" issue in the tank. It was a massive coverup!!! Just look this up many documentaries on the net about the truth of this crash.

RIP to those who losed their lives. Massive condolences to their famileis. Heart aches for them still.

  18. Displaying that should have been in the museum that I love to show data of how dangerous the other of well-baby could be a malfunction in Terror of a Sparks of a cable with a loose and then exploded this is for a well could be a training that are of a Define identifier data of how did this happen but however it will be destroyed that a one-day finish completion and then melted down as scrap metal and dusted but it's really sad you know it should have be like a whale saving some parts that are other things people that want to buy pieces and sometimes that are well this is from 1996

  19. While I tend to believe the official story, I hope they realize that by destroying the wreckage and reconstruction, the spread of conspiracy theories will increase vastly. All the missile theorists will see this as a final attempt to cover this up by getting rid of any leftover evidence. And why shouldn't they? After that sketchy investigation, with thousands of people who were initially involved recanting the official conclusion, many eye witnesses refuting the official explanations and insisting that it was a missile, and the shady Clinton admin at the time; this is a recipe for a mess. Also, before anyone says "bUt ThE fAmIlIeS wAnT tHe WrEcKaGe DeStRoYeD", have you ever seen any family members of the victims' go on record saying that? We only really have the NTSB's and media's word that that's what they want. We have pieces of the Twin Towers and the planes that crashed into them on display in museums. We literally have a recovered mangled chunk of the RMS Titanic on display in Las Vegas. We have chunks of the Hindenburg in museums too. We also have destroyed vehicles and weapons from both world wars on display. Why were we so quick to display those things without a second thought to the families of those victims yet have so much "consideration" for Flight 800? But I digress, let's assume that the families trully wanted this and we'll see that this still doesn't make much sense. Finally, the NTSB's explanation for this is flimsy. Ya, they've get 3D and drone imaging now. So what? It doesn't make the reconstruction obsolete. That imaging has to be based on something concrete and real, physical. Having a large airliner wreck like this is monumental when teaching something like air crash investigation techniques. As a matter of fact they're not decommissioning any of the other vehicle wrecks they had in that hangar, only TWA 800. As for lease, what? They couldn't renew it? Or they couldn't transport the reconstruction to wherever they'll be hosting their courses in the future? Get out of here. This is beginning to smell fishy even to me, and I've always been skeptical about the missile theory.

  20. They're planning to throw away the last pieces of the flight 800 plane soon.. its freaking HORRIBLE.. we say never forget 9/11 and have pieces literally memorized and scattered all around the states.. but we want to throw away the last memory of this plane crash like these people's love never mattered.. what a world we live in..

  21. Please take the time to read Peter Lance's books " 1000 years for revenge" and " Cover up". These 2 extensively researched books describe in detail how TWA Flight 800 was brought down by a liquid based explosive device originally designed by Ramzi Yousef. At the time of this incident he was incarcerated in N.Y. but still was able to communicate with the outside world via Gregory Scarpa Jr who was also housed at the same facility and who was passing intelligence to the FBI about Yousef's bomb designs. Ramzi Yousef had warned that he was going to bring down a commercial airliner in order to have a mistrial declared in his case. People forget that he was on trial for the Bojinka case ( a plan to bomb 12 commercial airliners over the Pacific in Jan of 95 with his specially designed Casio nitroglycerin bombs.) To make a long story short,, TWA flight 800 was Bojinka fulfilled. (Its also the name of one of the chapters in the book) During the recovery of the wreckage High Explosive residue was FOUND. If I remember correctly, RDX, PETN and nitroglycerin. It all in the books. Please read and draw your own conclusions.

  22. What we all really need and is really important and relevant today and everyday, anywhere and everywhere, anytime and all of the time, is the Gospel of Jesus Christ our Savior for those who may not have heard it yet but would like to, and for all of us! May the good Lord open spiritual eyes and ears to the truth and salvation that comes only through Jesus Christ our Savior.
The Gospel (the GOOD NEWS) of Jesus Christ our Savior
Jesus Christ came down here from heaven (God on earth) and He was born one of us, and He dwelt among us for over three decades, and He gave us His perfect sinless life, and He died on the cross and resurrected from the dead three days later, to pay for and to save us from our sins, to reconcile us with God, and to give us eternal life with Him, and after He resurrected from the dead, He lived on earth for forty more days, then He ascended back up into heaven and He is coming back again at the end of this world and everyone will see Him and be judged by Him.

There is no condemnation for sins for those who have been spiritually born again by believing and truly accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior Who died to save them from their sins. Read and study the Holy Bible foe yourself! : ) Pray to God for understanding. God is the Father the Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit all at once always. HE is the One True Living God of all creation.

  23. What is missing is the entire portion from the wing spar back. I have been here and seen this first hand. Also I was an Air Traffic Controller (FAA retired 36 years) this night working the sector next to this one. Sad accident on all sides. Lessons learned. Oh, and the wire thing too.

  24. So smashed up fire trucks and other "junk" has been kept and preserved after 9/11. This is historic as well.
America is too small to keep this somewhere? I don't think so. Swissair 111 was reassembled like that too.
