Winter storm hits North Dakota

As another arctic cold front makes its way east, blizzard warnings are in effect for North Dakota, with winds up to 55 mph and wind chills on Wednesday morning as low as minus 40 degrees.

  1. It's funny how the media makes big news about the North East getting storms. North Dakota has harsher winters than Alaska and Siberia combined. 65 mile an hour wind gust sustained 40 to 50. Wind chills around 40 to 60 below for days. Ice storms. On occasion 130 plus inches of snow in 2 month period. But they make no stink about it. I give mad respect to North Dakota for holding it down compared to states that rarely see these events and loose control.

  2. Been there and had that to happen to me! I couldnt get back to the Air Base. Spent the night in a lobby at a hotel with permission from manager back 1981. 80 after the storm looked like a war zone highway! I never traveled again in weather like that!
