Whale watchers in California were treated to an incredible sight, when a large pod of dolphins was spotted racing their boat off the coast of Newport Beach.

I used to take my daughter to the beach early off Ocean Side just outside Camp Pendleton to have an early morning breakfast and watch the Dolphins body surf next to the early A.M. surfers before I'd take her to School…. Those were BEAUTIFUL Morning MEMORIES for Me…. Watching the Dolphins was Pure MAGIC !!

you know why the dolphins are doing what they're doing? – it's not play. it's something to do with the sound of the cavitation under-water. it seems to attract fish, like it's feeding time…
and so, the dolphins go there too…i don't know how that's possible. okay, okay, so they've been conditioned to human presence on or above the water…bait…and fish.

I don't think they are racing. I think they are fleeing. Probably a pod of Orcas.
Dolphins used to escort us out of port in San Diego when I was in the Navy, it was pretty awesome. I have never seen a pod this large, though.
