I'm surprised that the move is so unpopular inside Russia, all this time I thought that their propaganda would rally the people itself against "Western aggression" but no, it's the other way around; usually when leaders chooce war, it is the last resort of a failed diplomacy or it is to unite a country that's been becoming increasingly divided.
Well if nothing else Putin lost the "credibility war" with Joe Biden. Not that I'm a big Biden fan, but on THAT front he did very well. Hard to see how Russians could attribute reasonable credibility to anything Putin says or has said after this.
How could he have humiliated by the dissolving of USSR when that happened decades before he came to power?
