  38. NATO could not defeat the Afghans; so the very idea that it would be willing, ready and able to fight (what would basically escalate to) a Nuclear War against the Ruskies is Laughable. The more likely outcome is total capitulation.

    There is no public sentiment (none whatsoever) to defending (say) the Baltics (a population of 6 million total) because doing so implies suffering casualties of 60 million on the US side, 20 million on the UK + France Side and a further 40+ million in other European nations in the first 48 hours (as per the simulations run by Yale University and others).

    The public are not buying it; even though they may in person go along with the "2 minutes of hate" against the Ruskies. Then too, they have no interest in being drafted (and likely genetically modified into "Super soldiers") to fight a Duo (i.e. Russia-China) who have more manpower, resources, industrial capacity, etc. This is a foregone conclusion.
