  1. Ok those songs really sound very similar to Levitating, I think she should just pay them for what they're asking for and move on .

  2. Pity to those who listen to her cheap, knock up garbage. I've always considered her more of a stage performer than a singer who can u kno SING!!!

  3. I find it funny this news coverage completely Left out the fact that Atrikal Sound System plagiarized that hook from OutKast's 'Rosa Parks'. Further more that exact same hook can be heard in the extro of DNCE 'Cake by the ocean'

  4. 1:29 Loose lips sinks ships, watch what you say in the press.

  5. I ve never seen an artist perform so bored and unenthusiastic as her. Give other upcoming artists some more attention please……. so many out there without huge spam budgets who need a chance

  6. Nah these so called original artists shouldn’t get anything, if it wasn’t for dua lipa no one would know who any of these artists are, and she literally made the songs Better!! Way better! Rap artists when they sample the chorus of songs from the past are literally doing the same thing just actually copping the lyrics beat and melody of the song dua lipa is simpler not, at the end of the day dua has a lot more hits then just that one song, and she definitely got more in the chamber ready to unload, trust me when I say this, she is a literal Queen

  7. There’s actually a great Adam Neely video on this. Although they sound similar, these rhythms are fairly common in certain dance genres and it’s kind of ridiculous to claim it can be owned by someone.

  8. Her "Levitating" is a total rip off of the Artikal Sound System song. It's almost blatant. You would think someone would've noticed.

  9. How can you sue over God's work? None of it belongs to anybody. I remember a time when people used to do it ALL for the glory of God.

  10. I thought you could take sounds and ideas and synthesize these into something new .. I thought that was absolutely legal .. I always get confused as far as these lawsuits and such .. imagine though if you actually just gave credit to those people and said I took this sound and that sound and the way the lyrics flowed here and here and just literally asked if this or that could be used if the person was alive of course and brought attention to those artists as well .. how difficult would that be .. problem is we have tracks and such that are mined by AI and then placed in a database from which we can pull from and no credit is given. Could fix that maybe .. don’t know

  11. 1979 they made a song that no one cares or even heard of. Dua lipa was born 1995 and now is her fault?. From this POV, that sounds more like greedy assholes that can"t accomplish what she did in 2022 all because she is more qualified and sounds 100% better and is not the whole song.

  12. Beyonce or Jay a or whoever had hold of my song written in Los Angeles in 1998 infringed my song as well I have my recording video tape to prove it filmed at the recording studio I will survive cause I'm a survivor I will survive coz iam a warrior is miine and Beyonce song rig goes iam a survivor I will survive say rif same music almost

  13. There are a limited number of notes in music so obviously there are a limited number of combinations. Those combinations become even more limited when you consider cultural and social factors. Ultimately you can’t copyright a chord progression or a note, or even a melody. What can be copyrighted are specific sounds/virtual instruments/beats and lyrics. For a musician themselves the legal stuff can feel like a particularly gray area but that’s what the lawyers are for.
