  1. Expect Border Patrol to show up with the cowboy hats and whips like its 1822 and not 2022. Quite a difference from when the Ukrainian refugees showed up, isn't it?

  2. The border crisis will not be solved at the border more than the drug epidemic has been solved at the border. Politicians love to put border patrol agents and police officers behind them on TV and tell us how these brave men and women in uniform are going to save us all. They believe using them as props makes them look tough. Unfortunately, they are right. They come up with tough guy slogans like “War on drugs", “build a wall” or “law and order” and Americans have been gobbling up these false solutions for decades. No walls, no drones, no agents will be numerous, tough or tall enough to "protect" Western industrialized countries from the influx if an ever increasing portion of the world population faces despair inducing, abject poverty in addition to now accelerating climate disasters. Haiti is a failed state and has been for over three decades. It was ruled successively in the 70’s and 80’s by a father and son, two US supported dictators who pillaged and murdered by the tens of thousands. The son, “Baby Doc” facing a massive rebellion was picked up by a US chartered military plane in the middle of the night with hundreds of millions of dollars in tow and lived most of the rest of his life in France in absolute luxury. Where are these funds now? In a Haitian bank? Think again. They are more likely kept close to the billions supposedly given to Haiti after the 2010 earthquake; the billions that were "managed" by a black whole called the Clinton Foundation. Dictators all over latin America knew what Duvalier father and son knew themselves: As long as they consistently established national policies that favored American business interests to the detriment of their own national interests and as long as they fought socialists or other perceived opponents to these interests by murder if necessary, Uncle Sam would turn his head while these dictators pillaged, raped, murdered and held on to power until the cows came home. If you wanted to be a dictator in Central or South America this was your silent contract, your winning formula for impunity, financial success and longevity. Is American foreign policy less cynical these days? Well, ask Jamal Khashoggi. God knows Haitian, South American and African leaders have a lot to atone for but lets follow the money. Who supports their ascension to power behind the scenes? Who really profits and secures the billions they extort from their people every year once they have been seated? Who quietly opposes the true patriotic politicians in those countries who oppose dictators? Who receives expulsed autocrats with open arms when their bank accounts are finally flush with cash? Who could easily prosecute them but almost never does? Who relentlessly brain drains poor countries while simultaneously pointing the finger at the incompetence of the leaders these countries are left to contend with? Who are the master puppeteers? Third world despots and mass murderers of the southern hemisphere continue to fill an essential role in the world’s economic ecosystem. They have done so for generations but they are not the ones pulling the strings. These long standing foreign policies have accrued a devastating long term cost. Western powers are finally being served their portion of the bill. The note is long and long overdue. They have the power to continue to ignore it. As is the case with climate change however, long gone are now the days they can do so without facing immediate and profound consequences.

  3. Let's find out what they came here for and make a way for them that's beneficial to both countries. Where are the churches to take some of these people in? I'm ignorant about what plagues them at their home, but to live by the ocean with fish and fresh fruits and veggies is the life to me. So are they running from wars or dictatorship? What gives? They're humans and we should treat them with respect and dignity.

  4. When white people are fleeing violence and catastrophe, they're "refugees." When it's black and brown people, they're "illegal aliens." These Western double standards are sickening.

  5. Removal proceedings? They have a right under international law that the US AGREED to, to seek asylum. They deserve asylum hearings and to be given at least the chance to stay. Not just immediately sent back.

  6. They swam for their life from Haiti brutal government for asylum and will be sent back. Yet open arms to Ukrainian and who knows how many? This picture is so wrong.

  7. I’m a Latino and honestly Haitians are probably some of the nicest people I have their very chill open minded and smart cause these people know like 4 languages French, creole, Spanish, and some English. I work with a doctor and we help a lot of refugees and for a good while we would get a lot of Haitians and honestly their nice people and they just want to work like they say.

  8. They come here because cops don't bust the source of the labor drug, Americans that hire illegals. Chasing the labor drug users but not the source.
