  1. In California the so-called rebate won't help much at all. Our gas tax is around 51 cents but might even be higher now. The problem is we pay just as much in fees as taxes. The last article I found said we pay $1.18 per gallon but that might be between $1.25 and $1.50 now. Sacramento figured out they can call a tax a fee and do whatever they want. They might pause the gas tax and just add the same amount on as a new fee. Hardly anyone even knows about the fees.

  2. Y'all need to talk to your employer about working from home until the gas prices go back down. Start taking public transportation! I moved from LA years ago bc I didn't want to be reliant on a car/gas. East coast living, taking Metro, and walking = about $15 a week on transportation. Now my grocery bill is another sore subject of exorbitant expense.

  3. First, gas prices are NOT HIGH in the US. Try buying gas in almost any other country. Second, what's the point of selling gas if they aren't going to tax it? Color me confused.

  12. There is tax for gas now not where I live that’s enough there is tax everywhere else but putting gas that shouldn’t be tax the gas is expensive enough

  25. How stupid is this. We have a world shortage of gas and diesel so we're going to make it cheaper and discourage people from conserving. Eventually with continued high use the price will go up, except then the states won't be collecting taxes to maintain the road.

  31. WHEN are they going to pass ah ANTI GOUGING LAW?

    THAT gas is NOT part of the high prices. THE oil used to make that gas was paid for A YEAR AGO.

    That gas is STILL or SHOULD BE under the prices when it was purchased and processed. RIGHT NOW, the oil refineries and the gas stations ARE GOUGING. THAT should be a CLASS A FELONY punished by a MANDATORY ONE YEAR IN PRISON FOR THE ONWERS AND IF THEY ARE OWNED BY THE MAJOR GAS CORPORATIONS THEN THE CEO GOES TO PRISON FOR A YEAR. ONE MILLINO DOLLAR FINE FOR EACH STATION OWNED.

    BUT we all know congress is owned lock stock and balls by oil companies..

    Nothing more than greed and greedy gouging. PUT THEM IN PRISON.

    GREED IS GOING TO DESTROY THIS COUNTRY.
