Hoarders not only captures the drama as experts work to put each hoarder on the road to recovery but also highlights the individual’s inner challenges and triumphs. Although cleaning marks the first step of tackling this disorder, success is not definite. At the end of each episode we’ll find out who has been able to keep their hoarding behavior under control and who has fallen into the deep end of this painful disease.

A&E leads the cultural conversation through high-quality, thought provoking original programming with a unique point of view. 1. I can not believe what I am reading here. This woman murdered 85+ cats, gets a home makeover and as long as she 'promises' go never do it again, all is right in the world. This psycopath should be in jail for the suffering she inflicted on these innocent creatures but as per usual, animals have no voice and no rights. Shame on everyone associated with this program and especially the therapist for allowing this to happen.

  2. I’m sorry, but I’ve sat through so many of these episodes, and I legit have never turned away from the screen so much as I did with Terry’s episode. I was expecting crazy cat lady, and instead I got an absolute horror show. Those poor cats! Just HOW do you allow yourself and beloved animals to live like that? Especially to the point where some of them basically are born only to suffer and die at mere weeks after birth (when her son described what happened to the kitten that suffered from the ammonia in the air).

And then the fridge and freezer scene?! I was NOT ready for that!

I’m a big animal lover, and it physically HURT to see those poor cats in such a condition.

  3. They did not treat Terry very well these so-called experts
She really did love her cats and she did not want to let go of any of them and she was too overwhelmed to care for them
The team that came in to help her all they did was shame her
Bottom-line the experts are pretty much worthless

  4. No matter how good your intentions are, one lone person cannot allow themselves to begin caring for cats unless they understand the importance of spaying and neutering to prevent unwanted kittens, and the expence of supplies (food, litter, veterinary care and so forth). If you allow even 1 female cat into your home, it's in everyone's best interest to spay her. An unfixed female can have great grandchildren in a matter of a year or 2. It's better for males to be neutered because they will live happier, healthier lives, with no scars or abscesses that result from the brutal fights that they get into. Finally, if you find kittens, be honest and realistic with yourself: Can you afford to care for them? Food? Litter? Veterinary care? Do you understand that they will not be adorable kittens forever? That they will be fertile by the age of 6 mos.? If you have depression, are lonely, or have any mental health problems, you will be more vulnerable to wanting to "help" creatures that you feel would have better lives with you. You're trying to help yourself by caring for other beings. But unless you are in optimal physical and mental health, you'll find yourself in a rapidly deteriorating environment, which can manifest as situations like this. This lady is not a freak. She simply took something on that she was not equipped to handle. There are stories of cat sancestuaries that help and save and re-home cats , but they are operated by trained multiple staff and volunteers, including on-site veterinarians. It's really the only way to make sure that both people and animals don't end in sad scenarios like this. 😢
