Aphasia is a language disorder caused by damage in a specific area of the brain that controls language expression and comprehension. The typical cause is stroke. It would have made more sense for whoever made the announcement to the public, that Bruce had a stroke or whatever the underlying cause was. Aphasia in itself is a result of brain damage or deterioration. Either way, I am sorry for Bruce, and his family, however glad he has support.
