22. Inspired by Elliot's example, I would like to take the opportunity to publicly "come out" as a homosexual. Like Elliot, I'm Canadian, which many regard as a very "progressive" and "tolerant" country because of our famously progressive Prime Minister and because all Canadian provinces prohibit discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity. However, the fact is, time after time when I risk revealing my true identity, people around me make uncommital responses like, "That's nice" or "Good for you" and quickly change the subject, suggesting deep homophobia. If it wasn't obvious, Elliot had highlighted that the personal is indeed political and we need to speak our truth loudly and often if we want Canada and Los Angeles to become truly progressive places.

34. I want to share a testimony of my life to everyone. I was married for over 30 years with two kids, I love him so much cos we have known each other right from when we where kids. When he went for a vacation in France he meant a lady there that also came for vacation, so when he came back he was acting strange until he moved out from the house living me with the two kids and went to live with the woman he met in France. I was so confused and was seeking help everywhere, I didn't know what to do I tried every means nothing worked I was left to take care of my two kids with little income it was really difficult while my ex husband was lavishing his new girlfriend with gift and money.
