21. I am med POA for a friend in a PA nsg. home, for 8 months there was NOT ONE case of COVID then they gave flu shots to all the staff and patients and now they have almost 40 cases. COVID SCAM!

27. I hope no one has to endure this mental and emotional torture! It is truly one of the most helpless feelings to have experienced and I wish this on no one!!!! It’s sad when a growing majority of elderly would rather get the virus than to die of loneliness and isolation. No quick trips to target, Walmart, gas station…. most confined to room. The governor of each state lays the rules for nursing homes guidelines and then good look getting it in writing or not getting the “run around”. Also, ensure licensing standards are upheld if possible (ie trip hazards in rooms) bc unintentional accidents of elderly are still extremely dangerous!

28. My dad was on Hospice he passed 4 month s ago now mom is on hospice seasons hospice try to put them both in because I was so wore out respite care I guess all the put people in it's the caregiver needs respite I told them no because I would never see them again I have no help from family

31. This is why you don't put you elderly in what's basically a fancy cage because you don't want to deal with them. Unless they need a nurse to care for them for medical reasons 24 hours a day don't go locking them up. Ive been to several homes and most the elderly there I see are just there because they couldn't live on their own anymore and most of them always say the same story, my family never comes to see me or they rarely visit me. We went to one as a field trip in middle school to go entertain them and left a good bit crying and hugging us because we actually used a field trip to just go hang with them when their own children do not go see them. Stop putting the elderly in homes because you don't want to pay them back for raising you.
