10. To me El Caminos were always in limbo. Their not very car like, but the chassis and capability is nowhere near a truck especially in their time. However when your talking an all out race truck or El Camino they often have the same rear suspension style and no longer a stock G-body suspension. Mullet is just as much of a truck as any other truck that can run 7s-8s. Mullet probably just has a center of gravity and a little aerodynamic advantage but that’s it.

18. You don’t normally find blown tires when traveling up hill. A lot of blown tires are due to brake heat… When I ran a trucking company I began to notice that a lot of blown tires occurred entering a city after going through the dessert. I figured out the tires were already hot from the desert, then as they entered areas where they had to reduce speeds and/or slowing for traffic is where the tires were failing due to added heat from braking.
    Solution…I told the drivers to pull over and let the tires cool for 10 minutes or so before they entered the city driving. Worked like a charm! They stopped blowing tires.

32. Unfortunately that trailer is just going to keep blowing tires forever. It's simple physics, with the amount of weight you're hauling they're just too small to flex and dissipate heat fast enough to survive. Yes they're rated to do what you're doing with em, but it's right on the ragged edge. Keep one of y'all's temperature guns by the drivers seat and scan your tire temps at every stop, and be super gentle when doing tight low speed corners with a lot of scrub going on.
