‘Oldest dog living’

If you do the dog-to-human-years math, technically this Chihuahua is 147 years old and he has just made the Guinness World Records for “oldest dog living.” ABC News’ Will Ganss has the details.

  1. Animals do not care when baby's die, you barking and shiting all over the world baby murders. Crime to own liv with dog/animals inside city limits, get the dog's out!!

  2. My Jack Russell is 23 years old and will be 24 in October, so this dog is definitely not the oldest living dog. Wow what some people do for popularity and attention.

  3. I knew it would be a Chihuahua! Mine is almost 12, and super healthy and active. Now I'm looking forward to hopefully many more years if we are lucky 🙂

  4. 21 is oldest living? That really surprises me; I thought it would be more like 26 or so. My dog Bandit, a rat terrier Jack Russell mix lived to 21 (June 1985 – Aug 2006). I knew he was a rarity to live so long, but had no idea it was that special.
Hope the Chihuahua has more bdays, is a cutey. ^^

  5. As a dog owner have my doubts most dogs sadly average 15 for small and less for bigger dogs, chihuahua do have a reputation for longevity with good care.

  6. Our Chihuahua Sunny was 23 years old when she crossed over the rainbow last year. Had her since she was 2 months old. She was blind and had heart issues. I am sure there are older living dogs than the proclaimed current champ, (specially small breeds) its just nobody wants to bother contacting Guiness and bring the media all in their business or have the proper documentation to prove it.

  7. Congratulations Toby Keith, amazing. I've kept a scarlet macaw for over 40 years. I once was a zoo keeper for Shirley the Urban Elephant, an Asian elephant who lived for 72 years. Love your dog!

  8. I have two Chihuahuas, they have filled my life with joy. A mistake most people make when they have a Chi, they try to leave him/her alone at home, big mistake. Chi's are very social, you never leave them alone, they want to be part of what ever you do. I have traveled with mine all over, including Europe.

  9. My uncle had a malamute that was 38 when he passed away, me n my cousins started thinking damn this dog is going out live us lol. We was still young when he 1st got him, it was bout 1983 when my uncle got him n he was like 2 weeks old. I think my uncle's dog woulda been the oldest, but sadly he passed not to long ago. My uncle wrapped him up in a big blanket n took him out to the hills to bury him n someone called the reservation police saying he was burying someone n when the rez cops got there they asked him to step back n he said what for they asked who he was burying who he killed lol. My uncle then told them I didn't kill anyone he died of old age, they told him to uncover him lol they seen it was his dog. Lol they cracked up n said it was big enough to be a person lol, so they let him finish burying his dog n the rez cops went to the person's house n told them to mind there business n that it was just there dog.
