  1. It's amazing that Baldwin goes into minute detail about how to identify the different ammo, and how to identify one from another he even drew pictures. Than states Reid would show him the empty gun, than each piece of ammo as she loaded the gun, than she'd ask him do you want to look/check, and he'd say no I'm good. Than he says that he got handed the gun and was told it's a cold gun, and no one showed him, they just handed it to him. So the investigators asked did you check it and he says no no I assumed it was a cold gun. Apparently he doesnt realize that even an actor must exercise care and due diligence. That he must treat a firearm with the utmost care. Know if the gun is loaded or empty, and not just take someones word for it because once that gun is firmly grasped in your hand you are legally responsible fo anything that may happen while you are in possession of that gun. Funny things laws they can charge you for involuntary manslaughter for not checking it for yourself, and than pointing it at someone and pulling the trigger and killing some one even if it's an accident, because you didnt take responsibility and check that weapon for yourself. In fact OSHA fined the Rust production company the max amount they legally could and determined that the production company, producers and production leads willfully and negligently disregarded industry safety standards, laws, and regulations. They also determined that they did not allow the armorer enough time to do her job, or train actors in gun safety or listen to her concerns or requests for more time. That they told her she was spending to much time on armorer things and needed to focus more on helping the props master.

  2. 1) As soon as the police read your Miranda Rights, STFU and call a lawyer!
    2) If Alec Baldwin were anyone else in the US he would be in jail awaiting trial

  3. Just to be clear:
An actor does not have the legal or professional responsibility to have any working knowledge of weapons handling, marksmanship, or gun safety and maintenance. Their job is to perform credibly with a prop gun.

It isn’t your responsibility to check a prop gun if you are an actor – your job (again) is to take the prop gun from the assistant director, (who is the set manager), and rehearse and perform your acting part with it.

The First A.D.’s union job is to clear the gun from the amorist when it’s checked into the safe on set, and clear check it again before handing it to the actor.

Before those two checks, the armorist is responsible for being in possession of the prop gun, cleaning and maintaining it as well as safety checking that it is empty of blanks and personally delivering it to the safe cart on set and signing off with the First A.D.

Alec Baldwin had every right and even a responsibility to rely on the paid professionals and managers to deliver a safe prop gun to him to perform with.

If you don’t agree with this industry wide standard, maybe lobby to get some laws passed to ban film crews from turning real guns into prop guns, but the N.R.A would put out a contract on you for it.

  4. As tragic as her death was and as much as I can’t stand Alec Baldwin, since when is it an actor’s responsibility to make sure everything on set is safe? It’s not. He’s paid to show up and read a script.

  5. They had someone with purple and yellow hair check the ammo?? Why not give a vet a job that actually knows how to identify ammo
