So you downloaded the new Expert Raw app for your Samsung device (if it’s compatible), now what? Tshaka walks you through the interface, the options, the use cases for the app and how to get the most out of it! This is a beginner’s guide so no need to feel intimidated by all that ISO, EV, or FStop mumbo jumbo! We’ll get you off to the races with the most important info you need to know to get up and running and taking and creating awesome things right from your phone.
According to Samsung, the list of compatible devices are the current S22 line, the S21 Ultra, Z Fold 3, and sometime in the first half of 2022 the S20 Ultra, Note 20 Ultra and Z Fold 2 are supposed to get the app. They say that the models supported are those with telephoto lenses with Bayer RAW support.

Expertly crafted video, visual difference between pro mode and expert mode editing in light room were helpful, this is exactly what I was looking for
Thank you , very good , yes it would be nice to see a video explaining speed , iso and wb 🙂
Hey, thanks for mentioning the fact that you can FORCE the phone to use the lens you want in Expert RAW instead of hoping for the best when shooting in low light. They give us so many things to play with and then make important things like this very unclear. I hope to see the day when someone releases a phone where you can adjust EVERYTHING yourself and not see any unnecessary postprocessing (upscaling, edge sharpening, messing with saturation – especially of yellows on Samsung etc.). I was just researching P40 Pro+'s capabilities and it does all the same stuff. WHY?
There is a solution for the problem that the Phone itself decides which lens to use. Disable it in goodLock -> Camera Assistent
Чувак, крутой обзор. Спасибо.
Узнал много нового.
Тебе всех благ.
Can you record video in raw?
Great video. Are there any other settings you would recommend for taking interior photos? Example real estate photos for the note 20 ultra.
Sir, "Stumbled" across your video during Sunday Church Service, (don't ask). Thank you, as I'll stumble no more…, at least not on this phone…….
thanks mate i didn;t know about the mertering modes and all my raws cam out really dark but same pics on matrix came out much better cheers dude
didnt know u had so much more flexibility with raw pics, damn.. thanks!
Does this app work on the S20 Ultra? can find the expert raw setting but nothing for astrophotography sadly.
C'était bien expliqué! Merci.
I'm starting to love phone photography since I got my s22 ultra. Please make a video on how to utilize the panels below. How and when to adjust them and some tips on how to capture dramatic pictures. Please, Sir.
Is there an alternative app for older phones like Note 10+?
Very good explanation!
Why is it that cellphone users tend to take vertical pictures and videos even when it is of 6 people standing side by side. A lot of empty sky and foreground. Are they stupid or something? You don't see that with people with real cameras.
Love ya vid man
How to change a camera resolution from 12 Mp to 108Mp?
Thanks you master!!!
Thank you for the detailed video ❤️
great explanation. good job bro
Well done
Wheres the link for the info on the graph?
Thank you for a fantastic tutorial! I learned a lot. I've only peaked into the Expert Raw app, wanting to use it but it felt like it would be hard to get the hang of. I'm definitely gonna start using it now.
This video did more for me about metering than a dedicated video.
Gonna drop a 👍 just for the ODB
expert raw makes my photos brighter and more saturated, i tried to edit it in lightroom but when i tried ti darken the photo, the image looks unnatural..what should i do? thanks!!
super video bro thanks..
Great video, finally a explanation with out all the technical stuff. I'm new to cameras and bought the S22 ultra and decided to try and use all of it.
The Metering modes helped alot. Couldn't understand that one bit, until this video
I would love to see your explanation on how ISO, shutter speed, and other features work on the app. I like the concept breakdown you did rather than technical ones, since I'm new
I've noticed the pro mode has pretty much all the same settings as expert raw but expert raw is more user controlled like using the camera you choose not letting the app choose.
A very good breakdown of the app and a good start for beginners. Thank you. Waiting for the next one! 👍
Fold 3?
Thanks Tshaka for the excellent breakdown of Expert Raw. I would like you to go deeper into ISO, EV, etc., please.
