Frankly I say Fed Govt should strip Abbott of the WIC contract and give it to another company that will follow CGMP . Abbott is under a permanent Injunction now they violate again shut them down perm ban them from producing any infant formula . Then how long was the prior FDA acting commissioner in before the senate dragging their feet on Senate confirmations before his nominee actually got in place in Feb . It was the prior Administration Acting commissioner still in place when the Whistleblower complaint came in and got buried for how long until the new Commissioner was confirmed . Frankly I blame it on the Monopoly of only 4 companies supplying the infant formula to the U.S. . Then Covid outbreak at the processing plant where so many were out due to covid that caused the employee work shortage having to isolate until testing neg for covid . The Whistleblower also raised not just concerns about violations but also about state officials trying to falsify documents . Then Abbott takes Tax relief to buy back shares in stock rather than use the money to fix the violations to come back into compliance . Frankly I would not ever trust their product for any of my grandchildren or other family members for their infants going forward. They got lost in the email is bullhockey it was intentionally buried by the prior Acting FDA commissioner and who ever else was handling the complaint after it was received . Inspections on site in Jan but then when the new commissioner was confirmed in the senate and took office bam Feb they have a Judges court order for Permanent Injunction again Abbott and the plant is shut down . The citations given to the processing plant before were in person inspections where many violations were noted and citations were given to the plant to come back into compliance . They had to destroy prior batches in 2019 and in 2020 for contamination due to contamination .
Of course it is Michigan
